Did you know that processing one pound of coffee from the farm to your kitchen can take up to 5.5hrs of labor! That being said, if coffee was grown in the USA using the same techniques as they use in 3rd world countries, your coffee could cost as much as $60+!!! There are faster ways to process that is less labor intensive, but those methods are not available where the best growing conditions exist. So next time you are enjoying a cup of coffee, know that you're contributing to the livelihood of many hard working people who make that cup possible.
