🐝 Just out here trying to keep the girls healthy ✨
As a first-year beekeeper, I’ve quickly learned from our state apiarist, Jenn Lund, that mite treatments are a must — even if it’s not the most glamorous part of hive life. 😅

The last few weeks I’ve been alternating Apiguard and oxalic acid v***r treatments to keep those pesky Varroa mites in check. It’s fulfilling to actually do something that helps them thrive. 💪🍯
Still figuring it all out (and probably always will 😂), but every little step feels like progress and I’m hoping to set them up strong for winter. 🐝

Honey is available for sale. All proceeds go to improving equipment for next year! Thank you for supporting us! 🙌🏼

busy over here in our little cozy hobby farm- first honey haul from our 2 hives this season- the bees have been working over time since being re-queened some weeks ago. We’ve seen lots of baby honey bees on our flowers and are excited to see the next haul!

How many ounces do you see?

Today our ducklings enjoyed a peaceful day in our sunny backyard. We are still figuring out a shady situation for them, but they seem pretty happy about all the ants they get to eat!

New queens introduced to our hives! About a month ago, we found everything hatched with no eggs left in any of their brood boxes. We ordered a couple new queens from California! Saskatraz queens are hardy and are expected to live through our hard winters. Here’s to some baby bees! 🐝🐝🐝
