All my fleeces are out of storage now. I'll be working on skirting the ones I sheared last year to sell but I had to take out some of the fleeces I bought last year and admire them. I didnt have time to wash them, but I just took them out, let them breathe a bit and made sure there was no mold or anything weird. They are absolutely gorgeous. The dark one is a Corriedale x Rambouillet cross from Ten Talents at La Bergerie Dumas 's Orion. Definitely smells like a ram, but this is a gorgeous fleece and super clean!

The white is a merino I got at ME Fiber Frolic. It always amazes me how the top side of a merino looks so dull and "meh", and if you pet them before they are shorn it doesnt feel that soft. But you get inside the fleece and its absolutely stunning and baby soft.

I would really love to try making my own shearing singlets from some of this wool. A lot of the Rambouillet cross is on the shorter side, so not sure if I want to blend it with the merino or keep it separate right now, but either way, I am looking forward to working with these.

I also bought two CVM fleeces from Branden Singh , one I still need to go through, I just forgot to take pictures.

No babies from Mrs. Fluffles but Mocha got shaved again. She was overdue for a haircut.

I have quite a lot of black angora from my doe, Star. She is half Satin, half giant angora and her fiber is a lovely gray. I'm thinking of sending some to a mill to be mixed with wool, if you wanted a blend, what type of wool would you be interested in? CVM, Rambouillet, Dorset, Merino, Shetland, Finn, something else I haven't mentioned?

Also, if anyone is interested to buy some, let me know. $10/oz, shipping not included but is available. No vm and no dandruff. I separate out anything that is soiled and I blow my rabbits out so you dont get sticky dandruff. This is shorn fiber, not plucked.

Phew, I'm tired. Brain keeps waking up early, now. My body says "No! I want to sleep more!" Brain ends up winning. 😮‍💨

Started my knitting project this morning. Shetland/angora yarn feels amazing to work with. I had to redo the cast on like... 3 times, and had to undo some of the first row because I messed up half way in.

Spent all afternoon in the rabbitry. Olivia's cage got cleaned, several others were cleaned. Sir Hopsalot needed a bigger cage and Mrs. Fluffles needed a cage with babysaver wire along the bottom, so a few rabbits got shuffled around. Hopples went into Olivia's old cage(which also has babysaver wire), Sir. Hopsalot went into Mrs. Fluffles cage, and Mrs. Fluffles took Hopples cage. A few of the moving blankets were removed to brighten things up. Trash was taken out, feed bags organized and flattened in a neat pile. I got a decent amount done today.

I think some next steps will be to clean all the rabbit supplies that are sitting around and store them in a cleaned out bin so they are out of the way and dont collect dust. That will clear a lot of the chicken coop roof, I can move the hay bales inside and start working on disassembling the coop. I am planning on getting a greenhouse kit for storage and to move the rabbits while I get everything settled in the rabbitry. Then the rabbits can move back when its all done.

I need to get my sewing machines serviced. The feed bags will be sewn to make a doorway, probably the back door, with a zipper, and the front will be built with wood and wire fence. I wont order a new longer cover for the rabbitry, but I will get the accessories to secure it properly. I'll just lose the last section of the rabbitry. Maybe some of the metal roofing panels from the coop can be used at the back end to extend it a little further.

I am exhausted, done for now, but lots more to be done soon!

This yarn is "messy". I could have done a better job carding, and then maybe I would have spun it more even and balanced. But it feels amazing to knit with. So light and fluffy! It is going to turn into an amazingly warm hat! Hopefully the sizing comes out ok....🤞🤞🤞🙏🙏🙏

Ok, I know this looks messy, I'm working with a small space, so dont judge me! Lol but I think I just found my new favorite way to spin on my EEW. I recently got an exercise ball because I absolutely love sitting on them, doing a little bounce, balancing on them, etc. It is great for my ADHD brain! Well, I have a bunch of Spot (Cheviot) wool still in a tote, that could be used for something else so I have more room, so I decided to spin some and first time spinning while sitting on my ball. Since my feet are not tied to a treadle, I can rock back and forth on my ball, use my legs a little, and it kind of helps me draft at the same time. It is pretty fun!

The wooden chair I got for spinning is kind of uncomfortable to sit in for long stretches. So now that I have my ball, that is going to be leaving. I'm not sure if I'll keep the Louet S10. I dont think it likes being on a carpeted floor. I do have a lot of the bobbins in use though, so not quite ready to sell it yet, but if you are interested, let me know! I will probably put Spots wool in a vacuum bag so I can use the tote. Its a little coarse for Cheviot, but she is no longer with is, so I'd like to make some special things with it. I have several projects planned in my head, its just having the time to do them!

Here is a small ball of 2 ply satin angora yarn spun on my Turkish drop spindle. This is a mix of fiber from Mr. And Mrs. Fluffles, so some parts are a little gray, and some parts are a little orange. Just a mix of my first small harvest of their fiber. Mr. Fluffles is definitely the softest of my angora rabbits. His fiber is like butter.

Hopefully, we will have some newborn satin angora kits around April 8th! Mr. and Mrs. Fluffles had their first date and had one fall off. I really hope she does get pregnant. Her and Mocha are due for their haircuts, and Mr. Fluffles was shorn the other day. Time to be much better about keeping them blown out now that the weather isn't too cold.

Most of the rabbits have gotten their nails trimmed. Hopples is super good with handling! I'm thinking I may breed both her and Miss Hopples (her mother) to Sir Hopsalot. Maybe I'd get more gold tipped steel bunnies. I still need to send pelts out to get tanned. I'll need to start working on dismantling the chicken coop that is in the rabbitry so I can make pens and transition the rabbits to different living quarters. I think plywood on the west side to block some sun in the summer and hopefully make plowing in the winter easier near the rabbitry. Hopefully we can add some more gravel to the driveway to even it out which will also help.

This fluffy yarn is almost done! Got most of it plied while the hubby was sleeping on the couch. When else am I going to get my fiber arts done?! Lol

I am really looking forward to knitting with this. This is for a hat project from a friend. The yarn is an angora/ Shetland blend from my Mocha and a local sheep I sheared last year in Alexandria. I was worried because the single was all over the place, thick and thin and slubs galore! But I actually really like how it's turning out. Not everything has to be perfectly even. This yarn has a lot of character, and I'm sure it will keep my friend's head warm. Now to pick a pattern...

The weather is due to get warmer! I am so excited! It has been COLD! Time for cleaning the rabbitry, grooming and solidifying a game plan for the rabbitry revamp. Budget is limited because we would like to visit Mr. Hegeners family this year. Hopefully I will be able to function tomorrow after some dental work and get some things started because there is a lot to do, and not much time to do it!
