You're going to have to trust me when I say, "Don't drink the water."
On his way across the lake he decided to stop and treat it like a wallow. I mean, the water level is pretty low. Love the later evening photos, almost dark, that's when the best things happen.

Not the biggest moose but probably one of the luckiest times I've had finding one. Listening to him talk to the cow and calf that was nearby made this one of my best days ever. He was still shedding the last of his velvet, the moose rut is off to a good start.

The elk rut is starting to wind down. Wish I had the chance to get up to the mountains a few weeks earlier to see more of the interactions between the bigger bulls, but I was able to capture some really amazing images even in only a few days. Most often they were really hard to find, not sure how I found the bulls that I did, but it was worth every minute. Looking forward to more time in the mountains next year.

We wrapped up the ASCA Nationals today with the started dogs - I have to say, today was probably my favorite day. A lot of upcoming, talented dogs.

Every morning at the handlers meeting, Donna reminded everyone not only to be kind to each other, but kind to the dogs who didn’t enter this trial themselves. A new facility, new sheep, a lot of distractions…. Give them some grace and understanding. A very important message we too often forget.

All images from the sheep trials are uploaded to the image hosting site available for viewing/purchasing.

Thank you for having me! I learned a whole lot that I need while I journey down my own trialing path.

I’ll leave you with some moments that I found very special, it’s important to remember to have fun. Safe travels!

ASCA Nationals, Day 2 of Sheep Trials

I don't think I've ever seen a happier dog to be herding sheep! Indy came in and I'm not sure all 4 feet were ever on the ground at the same time. Tail up and a smile on his face. We should all be happy like Indy!

Images are being posted to the image hosting site (it is currently having system issues, hoping the company has it corrected soon).

ASCA Finals
Tracking

Got to spend a nice morning doing something I'm very interested in but have never photographed before. The grass was high, but if you were just at the right spot there were some really pretty backdrops.

Images are online for viewing. They are not edited, but once ordered they will be cropped in, color adjusted and, if needed, some distractions removed.
