Important Announcement:
They say when one door closes, another door opens. But sometimes the door closing belongs to someone else and the door opening is an opportunity and a gift you didn't see coming. For over 20 years, Gahart sheep has been a founding flock in the local community. Roger and his wife Brenda Gahart have worked for the children in 4H and their families, supplying them with competitive market lambs that built confidence, trust and success. However, as their life takes a new direction, their flock now needs a home.
Demetre and I have been given an open door. A door that has allowed us to continue the Gahart legacy with some of the top ewes from this flock, with strong bloodlines and a bright future. We will also use the ram Jackpot out of Contagious and a Frog daughter. Together, we hope to build on the legacy the Gaharts have left behind and grow this flock into a competitive club lamb source for our local youth as they compete in jackpots, local shows, fairs and FFA.
As always with club breeders we will also have lamb available for meat. With our farm having Greek roots, it's an important aspect of our culinary culture to have lamb for Easter and incorporated into our meals. Lamb is a pillar of Greek culture, being a symbol of religion and hospitality. We are proud to be able to serve our local Greek community and anyone else who wants to try lamb.
