Ever wonder what the underside of our chicken coop looks like? 🐓🌱
Our coop is actually a converted hay wagon with a chicken wire floor. Instead of manure building up inside the coop, it falls directly onto the pasture below where it becomes natural fertilizer for the grass.
That means cleaner living conditions for the hens, less odor, fewer flies, and healthier birds overall. It also helps us improve the pasture as we rotate the flock across the farm.
The girls get fresh grass, the fields get fertilized, and nature does what it does best. 💚
That’s one of the many reasons we love mobile, pasture-raised farming.
