The weather couldn’t have been better—golfers still out on the course, that golden light starting to settle in—and inside, we kicked things off with a little friendly competition. A putting green set up for happy hour, cocktails in hand… Aperol Spritz and Hugo Spritz flowing while guests eased into the night.
And during happy hour, we had something really special layered in—Kelsey Rae creating live watercolor portraits for guests … it was such a fun and unexpected element that added so much to the experience.
It didn’t take long before the energy shifted.
We moved into the tasting, and instead of just opening bottles, we handed the moment over to a few volunteers—sabering Cava to start the evening. There’s something about that pop that instantly changes the room.
From there, the wines told the story.
A Sauvignon Blanc that was crisp, clean, and refreshing—exactly what you want on a night like that.
A Chardonnay that brought a little more depth—fruit-forward with soft vanilla notes that rounded everything out.
Then the red transition… a Pinot Noir that honestly felt like the perfect summer red—light, elegant, and easy.
And we finished strong with a beautiful B. Wise Cabernet—structured, bold, and exactly where you want to land at the end of a lineup.
And to close it out, a little “insider” move—a subtle decanting trick that completely changed how people experienced the wine. You could see it click for people in real time.
That’s always the goal.
Not just tasting—but creating those moments where something connects.
Grateful to Joe for having me back after our bourbon event last spring. These kinds of partnerships—and rooms full of engaged, curious people—are what make this so much fun.
Already looking forward to what we create this fall. 🍷

Most bourbon collections start with hype and end with confusion.
The smarter approach? Build a collection designed to teach you what you actually like. When you understand flavor patterns, every bottle becomes easier to choose — and far more enjoyable to drink.

You don’t need to be a bourbon expert to host an unforgettable bourbon night.

In fact… the best tastings happen when there’s a mix:
🥃 The curious beginner
🥃 The “I just drink whatever’s on the shelf” guy
🥃 And the one friend who thinks they know everything (we’ll test that 😏)

That’s where I come in.

I lead guided bourbon tastings that go way beyond just drinking:
• Learn how to actually taste bourbon (not just sip it)
• Understand distillery DNA — why different bourbons taste the way they do
• Compare styles side-by-side (wheated vs rye, proof differences, aging impact)
• Create a night your guests will talk about long after the last pour

Perfect for:
✔️ Small groups of friends
✔️ Client appreciation events
✔️ Bachelor parties
✔️ Private dinners
✔️ Anyone who wants to elevate a night into an experience

Whether you're brand new or deep into bourbon, I tailor every tasting to your group.

📩 Shoot me a message if you’ve been thinking about hosting one — or tag someone who should.

Let’s turn your next get-together into something memorable.

🥃I've been nerding out on bourbon lately — and I don't just mean drinking it.
I recently went deep on distillery DNA: the idea that you can taste who made a bourbon before you ever flip the bottle over.
Here's what I learned:
Mashbill is your starting point. High rye (think Buffalo Trace's Sazerac or Four Roses) gives you that spicy, bold bite. Wheated bourbons (Maker's Mark, Larceny) are softer and sweeter. Once you train your palate, the difference is unmistakable.
Yeast strains are the secret weapon most people overlook. Four Roses uses 5 proprietary yeast strains across 2 mashbills — creating 10 distinct recipes. That's not marketing. That's flavor architecture.
The distillery's water source, rickhouse placement, and barrel entry proof all leave fingerprints too. A bourbon aged on the upper floors of a Kentucky rickhouse in August tastes fundamentally different from one aged on the lower floors.
The more I tasted with intention, the more I realized: bourbon is a language. And once you learn the grammar, every glass tells a story.
