We lost one of our pigs to the heat last week. It’s just been that crazy hot.

These guys are still doing good, thankfully. They’ve got shade, plenty of water, and a good mud hole that we top off every day. They spend a LOT of time in that mud right now.

I meant to post earlier but it’s a beautiful morning. It’ll get hot later but the flowers were watered. The cows were given fresh water and a little grain. It’s been a good start.

This is Ginger. Izzy’s mom. She is a beautiful cow with a great personality. Polite and friendly without the need to bowl you over just to get to the grain.

I wanted to get these little guys in the incubator so no unboxing video. But I wanted to thank J&M Farm. We won 6 eggs and she sent an extra. My oldest has decided we needed to add some fluffy hat chickens as she calls them so here to hoping they hatch and we get a frizzle!

Three more made it home. Melody is affectionately termed crazy cow because when you compare her to Velvet she is. But in reality she just doesn’t care for the trailer. Once she got here. She was back to normal. Unless Mr. 6 Hollars walked out. She was eagle eying him all night.

I’m going to go make a cup of coffee and work on a few emails… well, maybe not, since I hear a little voice coming down the hall. 😂

Mr. 6 Hollars started bringing the girls home yesterday. One day we will have a livestock trailer instead of a horse trailer but it works for now and it’s paid for. Maribell couldn’t care less if they were home or not. Izzy was excited and Tink wasn’t sure what to think.

Morning!! ☀️

The girls started coming home yesterday, so we got their minerals, salt, and baking soda ready to go.

We’re trying a different salt this time Redmond Real Salt with garlic. Naturally, the kids had to try a little too. 😂 We’ll see what the cows think!

The garlic is supposed to help deter the flies. We don’t really notice it as much on the cows, but we do notice it more with the calves.

I guess we’ll see if the girls approve!
