Flavor Fuzion is my food dream. It is the name that I came up with to describe my style of cooking. By combining big bold flavors, a variety of ingredients and most importantly, love, to all of my dishes is how I pride myself in bringing "Feel Good Food" to all. I'd say that my style of cooking is heavily influenced by my diverse background, and life experiences. I am African American and Italian,
with one part Irish and a dash of Scottish. So growing up I thoroughly enjoyed my mother's traditional Italian and Irish dishes along with my dad's side of the family's finger-licking good Soul Food. At an early age I was also introduced to Latin Cuisine by my sister-in-law, and wow did I fall in love! I never shied away from trying new food, even as a baby, I preferred lobster over Ge**er. I think its clear I was born to be a Foodie. I started cooking "for real" alongside my mother when I was five. I used to "pretend-cook" as I called it, using my Fisher-Price Stove and Sink Set, but once I cracked open my first egg, I was completely hooked. Cooking became my passion and I took inspiration from everywhere. Even at a friend's sleepover, I got the idea for an elevated Spaghetti Omelet from her dad who combined eggs and pasta for breakfast. Since I loved all types of worldly foods I started thinking a lot about combining flavors and ingredients of different cuisines together. During high school and especially college, I was able to experiment more with food and really started to develop my own cooking techniques and style. For one thing, being a full time College student living in NYC, trying to make grades and ends meet was certainly trying at times. So being that I was forced to eat leftovers in order to save money, it was the perfect platform to begin combining flavors and foods. For example, I used to deconstruct leftovers like a half-eaten taco and glass noodles, add in my own ingredients and spices and boom, I'd have a brand new dish. I found this method to be the perfect way to freshen up my leftovers and transform them into something completely new. Over the years I have concentrated my efforts on creating scrumptious delights and unique bites of food from around the world to establish my Flavor Fuzion cuisine. I now welcome you on my delectable food journey from cooking in my kitchen, to dining out, to giving cooking advise and recipes.
