You ever stop and think about just how much work goes into preparing a classroom before those first students ever walk through the door? 💛
I got a little behind-the-scenes peek, and let me tell you—our teachers do SO much to make learning fun, hands-on, and meaningful.
This year, students in four different classrooms in Long Prairie will get the opportunity to learn how to grow food using vertical aeroponic Tower Gardens—right inside their school, year-round, here in Minnesota! 🌱
And before the students can learn it, their teachers are learning it too.
They’ve jumped in, asked questions, learned a whole new way of growing, planted alongside me, and are getting ready to take what they’ve learned and pass it right along to their students. THAT is pretty darn cool.
This is also such a beautiful example of what can happen when grants, community connections, schools, and people willing to try something new come together. A grant isn’t just equipment sitting in a classroom—it can become years of hands-on learning, curiosity, problem solving, science, food education, and maybe even a few future growers. 🌱
A HUGE thank you to these teachers for welcoming me into your classrooms and trusting me to help get you growing. I cannot wait to watch these towers fill up with green—and even more, to see what your students learn along the way.
So as we head into another school year, give your teachers a little extra love. There is a whole lot happening behind those classroom doors before your kiddos ever arrive. ❤️
