Not a turtle I see very often around here. 🐢

The boys spotted this little guy and brought him over for a closer look before turning him loose again.

What started as a simple pool party somehow turned into 96 guests, a 76-foot waterslide, and a to-do list that takes up an entire page. 😅

The waterslide is booked.
The snow cone machine is rented.
The pool is ready.
The decorations are started.
The supplies are arriving.

Now we just have to pull it all off. 😂

And before anyone asks… no, this isn’t even the food prep list yet.

If you were hosting 96 people, what’s the one thing you’d tell me not to forget? 👀

Sometimes I catch myself wishing life would slow down.

Then I walk down to the chicken house, listen to the birds, collect a few eggs, and realize these are the moments I’ll probably miss someday.

Not the busy days.
Not the stressful days.

Just the simple ones.

A few weeks ago, we thought this hatch might be over.

Our original incubator failed, and the eggs lost heat for several hours. We quickly moved them into a Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 from Tractor Supply Co. and hoped for the best.

Now they’re healthy, active, and taking over the brooder. 🐣

I’d say these little survivors are doing just fine.

Round two is already underway with a fresh batch of eggs in the incubator.

I thought this was just dirt on the concrete until I realized it was moving.

There are thousands of them… maybe more.

Does anyone know what these are? And more importantly, should I be scared? 😳👇

For months, this aoudad has been hanging around the ranch.

Most mornings, he’s out there somewhere watching.

But this morning was different.

This is the closest he’s ever come to the house, and he stood there in the fog like he had every right to be.

At this point, I’m not sure if we’re watching him… or he’s watching us.

Lucy absolutely destroyed our old indoor/outdoor carpet 😅 We still never figured out what was supposedly under that deck that she wanted SO badly.

So I finally gave the patio a little refresh with these outdoor rugs from Walmart and I’m honestly obsessed with how it turned out 🤍

The whole deck feels brighter, cleaner, and almost like a little resort patio now ✨ Plus these are SO much more waterproof and practical for ranch life, muddy feet, dogs, kids, and Texas weather.

Quiet evenings, ranch dogs, chickens heading in for the night, and a little Irish music playing in the background ☘️🌙

Fun fact: our Dexter cattle are actually an Irish breed, so this song felt fitting for a slow evening at Dublin Ranch.

A Walmart garden run somehow turned into plants, Venus fly traps, and the boys gearing up for war against Texas flies 😅
