🎁 NEW GIVEAWAY ALERT!Parkside Meadow

Flamingos and Fish is excited to raffle off a $25 gift card to Parkside Meadow Restaurant next Sunday!

🦩🐟 On our way to cheer on Clara Kolchick at her recital, we stopped at this North Buffalo gem right across from the zoo, and what a fantastic stop it was.

The French onion soup was absolutely incredible—easily one of the best we’ve had. The girls loved it! The French onion rings were thick, crispy, and coated in what tasted like a homemade batter.

But what really makes this place stand out is the atmosphere and history. Everywhere you look, there are pieces of Buffalo’s past—vintage photos, local memorabilia, newspaper clippings, and old restaurant menus. We found ourselves reading the walls and laughing at some of the menu prices from years ago, amazed at how much things have changed! It’s one of those places where every corner has a story, and you can spend just as much time exploring the history as you do enjoying your meal.

One of our favorite displays referenced “It Happened Here” – August 1960 at the Jazz Festival, along with countless other pieces of Buffalo history that make you appreciate our city even more.

And of course, our beloved Pelican, Grandma Cindy, couldn’t resist making new friends! She met the owner, got a personal tour, and even walked away with a complimentary Visniak bottle. That’s the kind of hometown hospitality we’re always talking about. By the end of the visit, it was smiles all around and definitely friends forever! ❤️🐟🦩🦅Maybe she will be a guest bartender!

The staff and owners were wonderful and welcoming, making us feel right at home. It truly had that Cheers feeling—friendly faces, great conversation, and a sense of community.

Tonight, Craig the Mailman and Sheri had a little date night and finally made it back to Marble & Rye.

Sometimes you revisit a place and remember exactly why you loved it in the first place.

For me, Marble & Rye is right up there with some of Buffalo’s best. We shared a bolognese deep-dish pizza that was absolutely incredible and a homemade pistachio pappardelle topped with breadcrumbs and pistachios. Simple, fresh, flavorful, and not overpowering. Just really well done. I even asked—the bolognese is a regular menu item, while the pasta specials rotate, but all of their pasta is made in-house.

The drinks were fantastic too. I had a cucumber basil cocktail (my favorite flavor combination), and let’s just say the bartender muddled the life out of that cucumber—in the best way possible. Craig tried a “No Notes.” It wasn’t quite his style, but that’s the fun of trying something different.

More than anything, I love supporting local restaurants that continue to show up for our community year after year. Marble & Rye has weathered a lot and continues to deliver an amazing experience, and I’m grateful they’re still here.

If you haven’t been in a while—or ever—put it on your list. Great food, great drinks, and a reminder of why Buffalo’s local restaurant scene is so special.

Have you been to Marble & Rye? What’s your favorite dish?

Hi everyone!

Pittsburgh was a blast and we had so much fun! Surprisingly, we really didn’t eat out much except at a wonderful place called Walter’s—and we didn’t even remember to take photos!

We also went Stinky’s and New Amsterdam , all in Lawrenceville, PA.I would try recommend the area .Butler street had great bars and restaurants, quaint but fun!!! Kennedy even spotted one of the old DANCE MOM dancers…but she would have to tell you who..maybe Paige, not sure!!!!

I’d really love to get another summer sweepstakes going. If you know of any restaurants, bars, local businesses, or friends who might be willing to donate a gift card, experience, or fun prize, please give them a shout-out. We know so many great people in the restaurant community, but I always feel a little awkward approaching businesses directly.

As always, we’ll happily promote the business, thank them publicly, and raffle off the prize to our amazing Flamingos & Fish followers as soon as we get something lined up.

Also, tell us about your summer plans! Are you taking any vacations this year? Heading somewhere warm? Beach? Mountains? Or are you skipping the travel and enjoying your backyard, local festivals, and everything the Buffalo area has to offer?

Looking forward to hearing what everyone is up to this summer! 🦩🐟☀️❤️

Well, Pittsburgh has been full of surprises!

As everyone knows, the Morgan Wallen concert was canceled, so we headed over to Tequila Cowboy to make the best of it. And guess who we ended up meeting? The mom, friends, and hometown crew of rising country artist Zach John King! What an amazing group of people.

The band is scheduled to play here, and the support from family and friends is incredible. We spent some time chatting, and it’s a reminder that connections really are everywhere.

Tequila Cowboy is absolutely packed tonight, and the energy in Pittsburgh is still going strong despite the concert cancellation.

Do us a favor—check out Zach John King on Facebook and Instagram and give him a follow. A talented artist with what seems to be a wonderful, family-oriented support system behind him.

Photos and more Pittsburgh adventures coming soon! 🦩🐟🎶🍻@

🐟🦩 Flamingo Alert! 🦩🐟

A few Flamingos are headed to Pittsburgh this weekend to catch Morgan Wallen on his Still the Problem Tour at Acrisure Stadium! 🎶🎤 We’ll be sharing our thoughts on the concert, the city, restaurants, sightseeing, and of course plenty of photos when we get back. Morgan Wallen is scheduled for two Pittsburgh shows this weekend, so we’re excited to see what all the buzz is about.

The big question: Were those ticket prices worth it? 🤔 Stay tuned for our honest review!

And don’t forget—we’re still looking for local businesses, restaurants, services, and community partners willing to donate a gift card or certificate for our page giveaways. It’s a great way to:
✅ Promote your business
✅ Support local families and friends
✅ Reach new customers
✅ Help us continue building a fun community

If you’re interested, please send us a message. Let’s help each other grow and keep supporting local!

Delayed flamingo post because the flamingos were up and at ’em all day yesterday and apparently recovery time after a Friday night out is getting longer 😂🦩

Not all of the flamingos could make it out Friday night, but a few of us were able to flock together with our bestie Peyton, who was back in Buffalo visiting all the way from Los Angeles.

We chose Britesmith Brewing on Main Street, and honestly… the vibes were immaculate 🍻✨ Buffalo FINALLY gave us some good weather, so we got to sit outside in the beautiful beer garden and pretend we haven’t been personally victimized by rain and clouds for the last month 🌤️

For appetizers, it was honestly hard to choose because everything looked so good, but we ended up getting:
🥢 Bibimbap cauliflower
🧀 Brewhouse mac & cheese
🌮 Brewhouse nachos

And let’s just say the brewhouse mac & cheese absolutely stole the show 👏 Even the flamingos who originally said “ehhh I don’t know if I want that” were suddenly reaching for thirds 😂🦩

One thing to note about the nachos: the cheese leans more beer cheese than traditional queso, so if beer cheese isn’t your thing, just keep that in mind before ordering!

For entrées, we split:
🍕 Wild mushroom pizza
🍕 Daniella pizza
🦞 Warm Maine lobster roll

We also tried a few drinks that were SO good… unfortunately the flamingos cannot remember the names of them at this time and will need to return for further investigation and research purposes 🍹🕵️‍♀️

Service was a little slower, but honestly our server probably picked up on the fact that we were in absolutely no rush and were just happy to be together catching up and enjoying the night 🤍

The only thing that would’ve made the night even better would’ve been a live band 🎶 but besides that, the flamingos absolutely loved it.

Most importantly, we loved getting to spend time with people we care about 🫶🏼 You know the flamingos are always gonna choose family, friends, laughs, and good food every single time.

10/10 flamingo-approved night at Britesmith 🦩✨

Okay Buffalo flamingos… we need to know 👀👇
What’s your go-to order at Britesmith Brewing?!
Food, drinks, apps… give us your must-haves 🍻🍔

And most importantly… are you team beer cheese nachos or regular nachos?! 👀🧀
