‼️ We’ve been keeping a secret ‼️

We’re excited to welcome back Eleni and George of , visiting from the Blue Zone of Ikaria, Greece, (and yes — from the Netflix series Living to 100!) for an event rooted in one of the world’s most remarkable lifestyles. Known for their vitality and longevity, Ikarians live with intention—through food, community, and daily habits that support well-being.

Now, they’re bringing their knowledge and experience to Buffalo.

✨ The Ikarian Way: A Conversation on Longevity
Begin with a 45-minute talk exploring the lifestyle, food traditions, and daily choices that support long, healthy living. Sip on traditional Ikarian longevity tea while diving into thoughtful conversation.

✨ Hands-On Cooking Class
Learn to prepare traditional Ikarian dishes alongside Eleni and George. This is a hands-on experience—rich with practical tips, cultural insight, and recipes you’ll bring home and make your own.

✨ Shared Meal + Mindfulness
We’ll finish the evening gathered at the table, enjoying the dishes we’ve created together. This is more than a meal—it’s a chance to reflect, connect, and experience the Ikarian approach to living well.

what if a water tasting felt like a wine tasting? 💧

on May 27th at 6pm we’re inviting you to slow down and experience water in an entirely new way at HER Kitchen.

guided by certified water sommelier Bethany Golden of + , this interactive tasting explores the minerality, texture, mouthfeel, and terroir of fine waters from around the world — just like you would with wine.

✨WHAT IS FINE WATER? ✨
fine water” is to water what fine wine is to wine.

it refers to premium natural waters that are appreciated for their unique source, mineral composition, texture, and taste — not just hydration. just like wine reflects terroir (the environment it comes from), fine waters carry characteristics from the land they move through: volcanic rock, limestone, glaciers, deep aquifers, and mineral-rich springs.

you’ll sip through a curated flight of fine waters, learn what makes each one unique, and discover how the source, mineral content, and composition can completely change the tasting experience.

because water isn’t just water.

it’s the foundation of flavor.
the beginning of wellness.
and something most of us have never truly thought about in this way.

A little unexpected. A little elevated. And really fascinating.

we knew when we opened our teaching kitchen, we wanted to show everyone that cooking isn’t just about recipes and ingredients. we wanted to help people rediscover the joy in cooking — not just teaching recipes, but creating experiences that bring people back to the heart of the kitchen + remind them how meaningful cooking can be.

Chef Valentina cooks from the heart, and you can feel it in everything she does. from the mixing dough to folding each empanada by hand, every part of the class felt welcoming and connected to her traditions + heart.

thank you to every person who chooses to spend their time cooking, learning, and gathering with us. 🤍

some of the best memories start in the kitchen.

this Mother’s Day, give more than a gift—give time together with a cooking class gift certificate to join us around the table.

because cooking with your mom brings you right back to the moments that shaped you, and the traditions that became part of who you are.

the kitchen has always been where it happens—

recipes passed down, stories retold, and the simplest moments becoming the ones you never forget.

we spent last week’s HER Talk with focused on gut health — and all the ways it quietly affect how we feel day to day.

the conversation moved from digestion to hormones, touching on the small, consistent habits that actually make a difference — how we eat, how we support our systems, and what we tend to overlook.

around the table, with a HER Kitchen menu built to reflect the same ideas, it felt like one of those nights where everything connected.

thank you to everyone who joined us - and make sure to check out the amazing line up we have for the rest of the year on HER CALENDAR.
