The first pic is a memory that popped up on my Facebook this morning. That was at the end of my "Blackout Betty" era. Fast forward to today, and the collection (and I) have matured just a bit. The one thing that will never change ...... will always be my first love 💜

Rainy days and whiskey just belong together 🥃

Yesterday, I finally toured Buffalo Distilling Company, and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to check them out. Right here in my own backyard, they’re crafting small-batch spirits with big personality and even bigger flavor.

The building has history in its bones, and you can feel the pride that goes into every barrel. From their signature bourbon and rye to the unique apple brandy, every pour tells a local story.

The tour was everything I love about whiskey: history, craftsmanship, and a few good laughs along the way.

Whether you’re a whiskey nerd like me, a cocktail lover, or just someone who appreciates a good local pour, this Buffalo gem deserves a spot on your list.

It's seriously still trying to snow here in Buffalo, and I am so over it 😮‍💨 I think I'm going to recreate this "Froth Goblin" I had at in Lake Placid when I get out of work this evening. Made with Blanton’s, chai, lemon, and egg whites, it was pretty tasty. And yes, I only ordered it because of the name. 🧟‍♀️

A Historic Journey Through Toronto's Prohibition Past

Last month, I had the incredible opportunity to step back in time during a tour of Toronto's iconic Distillery District – a place steeped in history, innovation, and a touch of rebellion. 🚨🥃

On the **Prohibition and Spirits Tour**, I discovered how the Gooderham and Worts Distillery rose to prominence during the Prohibition era, supplying millions of gallons of alcohol to both Canada and the U.S., even when it was technically illegal! 🏭🍾

🔍 The tour revealed some fascinating insights into how the distillery managed to thrive during this challenging time, with some legal loopholes that kept the booze flowing. One of the coolest moments? Tasting the Gooderham and Worts Four Grain whisky, which was reportedly the same recipe used by none other than Al Capone himself.

We also got to try some of Canada’s finest spirits:
-🥃Lot No 40 Rye Whisky
-🥃J.P. Wiser's Deluxe Whisky
Each sip was a taste of history.

Did you know that Canada played a crucial role in keeping the spirit of whiskey alive during Prohibition? Al Capone’s whiskey supply was partly fueled by these Canadian distilleries. Who knew history and good whiskey could go hand in hand! 🥃🇨🇦
