The yummy scents of Thanksgiving!! Once you've made it you'll never want that canned jelly 😄 🦃

Bourbon Cranberry Sauce

24 oz. fresh Cranberry

1 C. Water

¾ C. Sugar

3 Tbsp Fresh Orange Juice

1 Tsp  Orange Zest

½ Tsp Vanilla extract

¼ C.   Jimmy’s Bourbon

3 Tbsp Maple Syrup

¼ Tsp Cinnamon

¼ Tsp Ground Ginger

1 dash of Ground Clove

Heat Sugar and water until sugar is dissolved.

Add Orange juice and zest, Bourbon, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla extract, clove and cranberries.  Bring to a boil for 3-4 minutes until cranberries begin to burst.

Reduce heat to low simmer

Add Maple syrup and simmer for an additional 15 min.

Consistency of Cranberry sauce varies according to your taste.  A few presses with a potato masher will give your sauce a textured jam consistency.   An immersion blender may also be used to create a smoother texture.

Cranberry sauce can be served many ways other than traditional accompaniment to Roast Turkey.  It is delicious paired with almost all meats.  It can also be served with cheese and used as a topping for desserts.

Berry deserts are a must in the hot summer. A play on Tiramisu with raspberry, cream and vanilla pound cake. Some orange liqueur and honey mixed in the marscapone.
Would be fun to do blueberry and raspberry layers for the patriotic summer Holidays.
