There is a new little guy on the farm ! My neighbor was out of town and her full size Braford mama had twins. One of the twins was found heat stressed and weak. Mama just did not have enough milk either and baby boy was not in good shape . With the help of our other neighbors, we were able to get baby boy rehydrated , colostrum and taking a bottle like a champ . My neighbor came home from vacay ready to take him back, BUT….it broke my heart to let him go….SO…….he lives here at the farm now 🥰 I obviously needed another mouth to feed 😝 This boy is the same size at 3 days old as my 5/6 month old minis😂

With the temp at 104 currently here and NO breeze …this almost three week old baby girl was showing signs of heat stress...

With the temp at 104 currently here and NO breeze …this almost three week old baby girl was showing signs of heat stress . She was stumbling around drooling with her tongue out . She was in the shade with mama, but it wasn’t enough, and of course they were nowhere near the mister sprinkler by the house ! (They do also have a pond that’s full year round ) I ended up bringing the baby girl in the barn, cooled her down slowly with room temp water ,and gave her some of the Cupcake Cattle Company’s KSX Boost. Called all the cows to the barn and put on a sprinkler from the house that my husband will notice is missing lol. Now this sweet girl is snoozing in the barn with the sprinkler. I had to share because her sweet daddy won’t let anyone near that little angel baby 🥹 Fall temps can’t get here soon enough !

Jude’s babies are always worth the wait ! This girl is tiny and fluffy and so friendly already . She has the best mama ! Her mama makes sure she’s always in the shade until it’s safe for baby girl to come out with the herd . This girl is a looker for sure !

Hank (black) is one month older than Mojo. Hank is a midsize and dare I say Mojo is micro? I don’t like to use the term because maturity size is so unpredictable . Either way this boy is small and available at weaning! Hank is available also and will be very affordable as a steer . They are both super sweet in the pasture ! The girls are the ones making me work for it 🤣 Mojo is chondro positive a little over two months old and Hank is negative(3 months old ). They are both half highland but they are in their summer coats especially Hank ! Located in Burnet Tx

Bo & Honey are on a “date” today ! What a great example of the difference in Honey who is red, and Bo who is red with the “wild type” gene 😍! They are both very well heat adapted, all slicked off for a Texas summer !
