Mohican Meadows

Mohican Meadows We are a small 31 acre farm in North Central Ohio offering freezer beef and raw milk through herd-shares. Our beef herd has grown to 10 mature cows since.

We are a small 31 acre all natural farm in North Central Ohio offering Black Angus freezer beef and raw milk through herd-shares from our A2A2 Jersey cows. Mohican Meadows was born in 2012 from a few beef cows with the intend to raise our own beef and to provide family and friends with same quality we were looking for! All our freezer beef we sell is bred, born, and raised right here on the farm.

In 2020 we purchased our first family milk cow, a Jersey heifer that was 6 wks. fresh. What a blessing she was to us and the neighbors around us! This sparked the dream to bring raw fresh milk to the surrounding area through a herd-share. In 2023 we purchased 4 registered Jersey heifers to make what was once a dream now reality. Our goal is to have cows in milk year round. Our Jersey's primary diet is grass based. We feed a small amount of certified organic grain during milking to keep our cows in top condition.

DAY 2 WITHOUT POWER!

A generator truly is a crucial piece of equipment on a farm. It keeps water flowing for the animals, allows us to wash equipment, heats our water, and keeps the freezers and refrigerators running. It also powers the milk cooling tank and the milker vacuum pump.

Feeling especially thankful for this piece of equipment this morning and the role it plays in keeping the farm running.

If you come to the fair make sure you stop by the dairy barn to see to Rose and Mocha. 🙂
