I thought I'd pop on and share a little farm update because so much is happening ...

Tulip season is winding down and what a beautiful season it was.

Peonies will be stealing the show very soon. We just need a little more sunshine to move them along.

I'm deep into planting season. More than half of the annual field is planted, and the other half will go in next week with heat-loving annuals like zinnias, celosia, and sunflowers.

Dahlia planting is also underway. We'll be planting more than 2,500 tubers this season, including 17 new varieties.

Some beautiful arrangements for bridal showers and anniversary celebrations have already gone out, and the calendar is filling up with Buckets of Blooms orders for summer and fall weddings.

We've also welcomed some wonderful guests to the cottage this season. They've been kayaking on the river, enjoying bonfires in the evening, and listening to the peepers at night.

Behind the scenes, I'm working on a fun lineup of fall workshops and events that I'm excited to share soon.

The to-do list is long, the weather has been all over the place, and there never seem to be enough hours in the day this time of year, but the farm is coming alive.

The season is shifting.

After weeks of packing dahlia tubers and sending them off to their new homes, I’m turning my attention back to the flowers and the season ahead here at the farm.

The Flower Club is kicking off soon.
Five monthly bouquets, May through September, gathered from what’s in bloom here at the farm.

Something to look forward to.
Something to bring home.
Something that makes an ordinary week feel a little more beautiful.

Our dahlia tuber restock opens tomorrow
Sunday, March 15 at 11 am EST.

A few helpful details before you shop:

If you’ve already placed an order with us, we’re happy to combine shipping. Simply send an email with your order numbers and we’ll refund any extra shipping charges after your tubers ship.

Tubers ship in April once temperatures allow for safe shipping.

Local on-farm pick up is available April 10 or April 11.

The shop page is currently password protected while I finish uploading inventory. When the restock opens tomorrow no password will be required to shop.

For the past five years we’ve welcomed guests to a small cottage next door to the farm.

Couples celebrating anniversaries, solo travelers looking for quiet time, and people simply wanting a few peaceful days surrounded by nature.

It has become a special part of the farm.

We’ve decided to give the cottage its own space here on Instagram so we can share more of what it’s like to stay among the flowers, fields, and woods.

Winter always feels long and short at the same time.

The work turns indoors this time of year. Dividing dahlia tubers. Packing and counting. Checking on tubers in storage. And counting again.

Then the focus shifts to season planning. Because, believe it or not, spring is only seven weeks away. Graph paper for field maps. A detailed spreadsheet for seed starting schedules. A calendar filling with workshops and events on the farm.

This is the in-between season. Not quite resting. Not quite growing. Just getting ready for a beautiful season ahead.

What a whirlwind fall has been. Jeremy and I dug dahlias, tucked in tulips, moved tunnels, and planted a new peony field all before the first snow.

Now I’m shifting into planning for our 2026 season, my ninth year growing flowers. I love fresh starts and fields waking up again.

And I’m feeling grateful — for you following along, for your messages and visits, and for the joy you bring to our little family farm. It means so much. 💛
