🍂 A little farmhouse goodness for this week… 🤎

As we slowly settle into fall and our girls move closer to calving, we’re keeping things simple:

🥛 Fresh milk — $15/gallon
🥛 Fresh cream — $12 / 12 oz
🍶 Plain farmhouse yogurt — $9/ 16 oz
🍁 Maple vanilla yogurt — $12 / 16 oz
🧈 Salted farmhouse butter — $20 / 10 oz in glass jar
🌿 Cultured butter — $22 / 10 oz in glass jar

Our glass butter jars require either a jar exchange or a nonrefundable deposit, and we kindly ask that returned jars come back clean and ready for their next batch. 🤎

As calving season approaches, our milk supply will continue to slow and availability will become a little more limited over the coming weeks. If Tuesday pickup works better for you, send us a message—we can move some orders to Tuesday for those who are interested.

We’re grateful for every gallon, jar, and pat of butter we get to share with our neighbors and friends. Thank you for supporting our little family farm through every season. 🌿🐄🍂

🎂 Proud mom moment! 🦖🤎

Our oldest daughter, 12, made this amazing birthday cake completely from scratch (except for the dinosaurs 😉) for our birthday boy!

So proud of her, so happy to celebrate him, and very much looking forward to digging in! 😂🎉🎂

🍂 This week at Bybee Mountain Farm 🤎

We’re keeping things simple as we close out summer and slowly settle into fall:

🥛 Fresh cream-top milk — $15/gallon
🥛 Fresh cream — $12/pint
🍶 Plain farmhouse yogurt — $9/pint
🍁 Maple vanilla yogurt — $12/pint

Glass jar reminder:
Milk is available in our half-gallon glass jars with a $5 nonrefundable jar deposit, or bring your own clean, wide-mouth half-gallon jar with a plastic lid for exchange.

Yogurt and cream are in pint jars with a $3 nonrefundable jar deposit, or bring your own clean, wide-mouth pint jar with a plastic lid for exchange.

Please return all jars clean and ready to refill. We’re working hard to keep moving toward a beautiful, reusable glass-jar system, and returning clean jars helps us keep it going! 🤎

Next week, we’ll have fresh butter, cultured butter in glass jars, fall-flavored yogurt, and quark! 🧈🍂

A simple summer menu this week… with some cozy farmhouse goodness on the way. 🌿

🧈 Our butter has culture!

No, not that kind of culture. 😆
Ours starts with fresh cream and a little of our farmhouse yogurt, which we let culture before churning it into the most deliciously rich, creamy, slightly tangy butter.

Is it fancy enough to eat with your pinky up while sipping tea? Absolutely. ☕️🫖
Will we probably just slather it on a warm piece of freshly milled bread and eat it standing at the kitchen counter? Also absolutely. 😂🥖🧈

We’ve had a whirlwind of a week with the county fair, family activities, and all the usual farm shenanigans, but we’re working toward adding this little bit of cultured goodness to our menu very soon! 🤎🌿

Stay tuned… the butter is worth waiting for. 🧈🤎

❤️ Sometimes the smallest things have the greatest impact ❤️

I found this sweet little note in my desk today—a kind customer left it in my mailbox months ago, and I’m so grateful I saved it 🤗

Running a little farm is a lot of work! Notes like this are a gentle reminder to keep going, keep growing, and keep sharing a little piece of our farm with our community. 🌿🥛

Thank you so much for the encouragement! ❤️

🍑 A little taste of summer from the farmhouse kitchen… 🤎

Tonight’s yogurt is our Summertime Peach Compote Yogurt—creamy farmhouse yogurt layered with our slow-simmered peach compote, made with ripe peaches, maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla, lemon, and a touch of ground ginger. 🍑🌿

Sweet, creamy, gently spiced, and made in a small batch for tonight’s milk meet-up.

A little taste of summer before the peaches disappear for another year. ☀️🤎

How do you quark? 🤎

Tonight’s little farmhouse dessert (ok, it was actually my dinner! 😂) was about as simple—and delicious—as it gets: ripe peaches, creamy homemade quark, a drizzle of maple syrup, a pinch of salt, and plenty of cinnamon. 🍑✨

Fresh, simple, and made right here from the goodness of the farm. 🌿🥛

For those who have had quark - how do you dress it up? 👇

A little look at what’s been happening around the farm this week… 🌿🐄🐓🐖

🍞 Prepped four loaves of freshly milled bread
🐄 Pregnancy tested the girls — 4/4 pregnant! 🎉
🌱 Moved the girls onto fresh pasture
🍅 Bartered buttermilk for tomatoes and turned 100 lbs into homemade spaghetti sauce
🪵 Bought fencing for Lolly’s new piggy palace, with new friends on the way
🐕 Welcomed the sweetest Anatolian Shepherd mix, Annie, who will be joining me for morning milkings and keeping an eye on all the chicken shenanigans
🥛 Scored A+ on our milk testing again!
🤎 Had a lovely milk meet-up and got to visit with friends and neighbors—one of my favorite parts of what we do.
🥚 Started collecting eggs again now that our broody hens have finally come around—one even hatched a chick!
🐐 And discovered Toby the goat had decided the barn was apparently a much better place to be than the pasture. 😂

And in between all of that, I’ve been sitting down and writing out our goals for next year. 🌸

More pasture projects, chicken tractors, a little fresh-cut flower garden, expanding our homemade cheeses and dairy, more animals, better infrastructure, and lots of other little ideas we’ve been dreaming about.

It’s exciting to look back at how far this little farm has come—and even more exciting to think about where we’re going. 🤎

Just another week at Bybee Mountain Farm: busy, messy, productive, and full of surprises. 🌾

It’s been a whirlwind around here the last week or so, but I’m excited to finally share some wonderful news! 🤎🐄

4 out of 4 pregnancy tests were positive today! 🎉 We’re expecting four of our girls to calve, with two more likely to be AI’d by the end of the year. If all goes according to plan, we could have six girls in milk by the end of next year! 🥛

This spring, we’ll welcome a few new calves to the farm, and with them comes the possibility of even more fresh milk, cream, butter, yogurt, cheese, and all sorts of good things coming out of our little farmhouse kitchen.

We’re dreaming and planning for what next year might look like, and I’d love to hear from you…

What would you love to see on the Bybee Mountain Farm menu? 🌿🤍
