Well April, May, and June were filled with flowers. But July has been the biggest blessing to our family. The most special thing is that we all got to go to NJ and visit my Grandpa and Grandma. My Grandpa turned 90 in May and they recently celebrated their 69th anniversary!! What a testimony. It had been 3 years since I have seen them as they no longer have been able to travel to Michigan due to declining health.
We also did many fun family things along the trip. In all we travelled 2,200 miles.

We had a friend make these great shirts for our kids!! We used them in some family pictures this past weekend.

I do not post as much to social media in the off season as we focus on family and our own veggie garden.

But we do have some very exciting things coming to The Flower Wagon in the next few months.

I will keep you updated along the way. And give you some tidbits of our life in stories.

THANK YOU!!

Wow what a spring! And it was all made possible through your support.

I wanted to take a moment and thank you for your honesty and integrity as a community. We offer a self-serve stand, and this year every single bouquet was paid in FULL.

I have had many people encourage me to place a sign like “honesty still exists, please don’t let it die”. Personally I have felt like it would not matter. And yes every other year we have had some theft. Or someone pays for only part of a bouquet.

I have decided to make it simple I offer the price. State “cash or Venmo” and then write those 2 words which mean more than you know THANK YOU on our sign.

If you came 1 time, if you came 7 times, if you bought a bulk bucket, bought flowers for a DIY wedding, liked or commented on a post, or helped us spread the word by mouth it all helped make season 4 successful.

Watch for news on some offerings this FALL for the first time we are going to offer peony roots and tulip bulbs. More on that to come.

And yes this picture is one of my favorite of the season.

The story of our beloved Wagon.

As a high school girl my good friends family had this wagon sitting in their front yard and sold flowers and baked goods off it. I often went to her house and saw it out but never paid a ton of attention to it. About 6 years ago when my husband and I were discussing starting a business I knew this family no longer used it. I reached out them and they so kindly sold it to us!!! (Lesson here sometimes just ask nicely, you never know what someone will say)

My husband had never seen it. And honestly it had been 15 years since I had seen it. As we left their house my both said “that is such a neat wagon, just perfect”. My understanding is that it used to be an old working manure wagon. And my friends Dad fabricated the cover for it.

My father in law and our family put a lot of work into it this past winter as it had some rot. Sanded it down and replaced quite a few boards. It took many hours.

We are excited to have ONE more weekend of flowers.

UPDATE on PEONY SEASON!

We finished picking the last variety of peonies today! Good news is that we have them safely tucked in the cooler for when needed in the next few weeks.

Our stand will be open for ONE more weekend. June 12 and 13.

We are still taking orders for special events. Shoot me a message and I will add you to my list.

We have some beautiful saponaria that bloomed just the last few days and will hold in the cooler for your needs in the next 2 weeks. One bud vase with a stem of greenery, airy filler, and a peony bud are just perfect as a centerpiece for an open house or bridal shower. Cost estimate is about $7 per arrangment. Reach out if you are interested we would love to add some beauty to your event.

Wedding peonies! This past weekend we had the privilege of attending a family wedding. It was so fun to see our flowers be used. The bride did such a great job with the arrangements and bouquets.

UDATE Friday 1:30pm - stand is still OPEN. it has been raining most of the day but the wind has not been bad. Looks like storms closer to 5pm so we will most likely have to close then.

Do you love the smell of peonies?!?! Some varieties have a stronger smell than others. I think the white ones are some of the most fragrant.

Well… we have the best selection this weekend for you to enjoy.

$20 and $30 options. Cash or Venmo

Open Friday (6/5) and Saturday (6/6) 8am - 8pm. PLEASE NOTE- there is some much needed rain and possible storms on Friday afternoon we will most likely close the stand if the winds pick up. Watch for facebook/instagram stories for an update. Saturday looks to be beautiful and we will be open all day.
