It is hard to ultrasound with one hand, hold the goat steady and take a picture all at the same time. But goats are being bred and pregnancies are being confirmed. Kidding season is going to be here and life is going to get crazy.

Interested in learning to pregnancy ultrasound your own sheep or goats? Join us November 23–24 in San Angelo for the 2026 Texas A&M AgriLife Pregnancy Ultrasound Workshop!

This workshop is designed to help producers use ultrasound as a management tool within their own flock or herd. Attendees can expect hands-on scanning instruction as well as education on how to use ultrasound alongside tools such as breeding soundness exams, body condition and FAMACHA scoring to improve gestational management and optimize lamb and kid crops.

Space is limited and the workshop typically fills quickly. Applications are open through October 15, so apply early! For more information - https://agrilife.org/sheepandgoat/event-registration/

Checking viability. The straw popped when I pulled it out of the tank to thaw. Everything looks good and I'm crossing my fingers she caught. This is going to be a long 21 days. :)

It feels (kind of) like fall, the (buck) smell is in the air and breeding season has begun. This is my tentative Nubian breeding chart--I will update it as does are exposed and again as does are confirmed bred.

So my LGD does dig holes all over the pasture, but he's still a pretty good boy.
