☀️ Mornin’ y’all! ☀️

It’s Monday. A brand new week. A blank page. A fresh start.

So let me ask you something…

What is that ONE thing you’ve been putting off until “the perfect time”? 🤔

Starting the gym?
Looking for a new job?
Taking that trip?
Starting that business?
Cleaning out that one closet that has become a full-time resident of your house? 😂

Here’s the thing… there is no perfect time.

If people waited for the perfect time, nobody would have kids, adopt pets, move across the country, start businesses, or do half the crazy things that end up becoming the biggest blessings in their lives.

Just do the thing.

And no, procrastinating doesn’t make you lazy, weak, or less than. It makes you human. We all get scared. We all overthink. We all imagine worst-case scenarios that usually never happen.

Trust me, I’ve done some hard things in my life. I’ve joined the Army, deployed overseas, left situations that weren’t healthy, raised kids, started over, and gave my life to Jesus.

And yes, following Jesus is a daily choice. It’s not a one-time event. It’s waking up every day and saying, “Lord, help me do better than I did yesterday.”

So today, let faith be bigger than fear. ❤️

And speaking of faith…

Someone messaged me yesterday and said, “Thoughts and prayers don’t work.”

Friend… I respectfully disagree.

I’ve seen prayer work too many times to count.

Now, does that mean we sit around and do nothing when someone needs help? Absolutely not. If someone is in danger, get involved. Report it. Help them. Support them.

But don’t stop praying.

Prayer isn’t the only thing we do, but it should never be the thing we stop doing.

People have free will. God doesn’t force people to make good choices. That’s why bad things happen. But I still believe God can heal, restore, protect, strengthen, and make a way where there doesn’t seem to be one.

So here’s your Monday challenge:

✨ Do the thing.
✨ Take the step.
✨ Make the call.
✨ Fill out the application.
✨ Go to the gym.
✨ Start the project.

And if you’re scared, do it scared.

Now tell me…

What’s YOUR thing?

Drop it in the comments and let’s cheer each other on! You never know who might need a little encouragement today.

And as always, if you need prayer, message me, text me, call me, send a carrier pigeon… whatever works. 🕊️😂

You’ve got people in your corner.

More importantly, you’ve got God in your corner. ❤️

Y’all can call it farming if you want, but I’m gonna say it anyway…

Kicking a rooster because he’s “mean,” leaving an animal to suffer because it’s inconvenient, or refusing to help a sick chicken because “it’s only a $5 chicken” isn’t farming.

It’s cruelty.

Now before somebody jumps in with, “They’re livestock, not pets,” let me stop you right there.

I know the difference.

I know not every animal belongs on the couch watching Netflix.

And trust me, if anybody has earned the title of “jerk rooster,” it’s Tom. He’s chased me, challenged me, pecked me and tested my patience more times than I can count. But being difficult doesn’t mean he deserves less care, less protection, or less compassion.

Because every animal deserves food, clean water, shelter, protection, and humane care when they’re sick or hurting.

When we bring animals onto this farm, they become our responsibility. Not just when it’s easy. Not just when they’re productive. Not just when they’re cute little babies.

All the time.

Because fear feels the same whether it comes from Tom the jerk rooster, a goat, a dog, or a thousand-dollar horse.

Pain is pain.

And around here, we believe being a good farmer isn’t measured by how many animals you own…

It’s measured by how well you care for the ones God entrusted to you. ❤️

Call me soft if you want.

I’ll be over here making sure even the “just a chicken” chickens matter. 🐓🤍

Alright y'all, let's talk Alpha-Gal. 😅

I know. I know.

Some of y'all are already rolling your eyes.

"Good grief, Jenny. We get it. The tick won." 🤣

And, that's part of the reason I haven't talked about it much lately.

Not because it went away trust me, the Alpha-Gal is still Alpha-Galling, lol

The tick didn't send me a formal apology letter, it didn't reverse the damage. It didn't even offer me a coupon for emotional support chicken tacos. 🙄😂

It’s because I got worried that people were tired of hearing about it. For a little while, every other post I made was about food labels, ingredients, EpiPens, reactions, and emotions, because this was new to me, and it’s such a crazy disease.

Anyway, something changed this week. Every time I turned around, someone was bringing it up to me! Like what?!

I had conversations with people who somehow didn't know I have Alpha-Gal.

Which honestly impressed me because I thought I'd accidentally made it my entire personality for a minute. 🤣

I had people asking for updates.

Someone even invited me onto his podcast to talk about it!

Someone recently bitten by a tick reached out with questions.

And while I was serving at church camp, one of my sweet girls asked why I couldn't eat what everyone else was eating.

Now y'all...

By that point I'd answered so many questions all week about EpiPens, emergency plans, reactions, ingredients, and what happens if somebody accidentally feeds me something I shouldn't have that I really didn't feel like explaining it again.

But I felt that little nudge.

Teach.

So I explained it.

And after I finished, she looked at me and said,

"Wait, Ms. Jenny... so you can't have cheeseburgers or steak anymore?"

😭😂😭😂😭😂

Y'all.

That child skipped right past the medical diagnosis and went straight to the tragedy 🤣

But honestly, fair! 5 months ago when I got diagnosed, I had the exact same response.

There are still days when somebody fires up a grill and I briefly consider writing a steak a heartfelt love letter.

"Dear Ribeye,

It's not you. It's me.

Actually, it IS you.

Love always,
Jenny"

🤣🤣🤣

But after talking with her, I realized something.

I don't really miss much about my ‘old life’ anymore. This is my normal now. I've adapted. I've learned.
I've found foods I love. I've figured out how to navigate this weird reality. And maybe that's why God keeps putting opportunities in front of me to talk about it.

Not because He wants me to become the spokesperson for this crazy disease (maybe He does 🤷🏼‍♀️), but because every time I share, somebody learns something. This isn’t ’just an allergy’, this isn’t just she can’t have dairy, or cheeseburgers or steak. This is, those foods can kill her.

And because I’ve adapted, and so many others who have this same thing have not adapted, someone has to be the advocate. And because I will advocate, somebody gets answers. Somebody will tealize they aren't alone. Somebody who's scared gets a little less scared.

This week reminded me that there are people paying attention. There are people learning. There are people who genuinely care.

So if you're tired of hearing about Alpha-Gal, that's okay.

Imagine how those of us living with it feel. 😂

But I'm not going to stop talking about it. In fact, I’m starting a line called Tick’d Off Threads to spread awareness. To let family members and friends wear their support for someone with AGS.

Because if sharing my experience helps even one person, then it's worth it.

And if you're dealing with something in your own life and you've convinced yourself nobody cares...

Don't believe that lie.

People care.

More people than you realize.

Sometimes all it takes is being willing to tell your story. ❤️

Now tell me...

Before me, had you ever even heard of Alpha-Gal Syndrome? Or did you think I was making up random diseases for attention? 🤣👇

🚨 BREAKING NEWS 🚨

J&J Ranch officially got monetized this morning!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Which means after years of feeding animals, chasing escaped goats, negotiating with chickens, bottle-feeding babies, cleaning messes I didn't make, and being stalked by what I firmly believe is a Black Lab disguised as Michael Myers...

We finally made it! 🩷

Y’all, this page started as a way to share our little corner of the world. I never imagined so many people would want to laugh along with our farm chaos, celebrate baby goats with us, cry with us through the hard stuff, and become part of the J&J Ranch family.

Every like, comment, share, and laugh at one of my ridiculous posts helped get us here, and I am so incredibly grateful for every one of y’all. ❤️

Now I need to know...

What has been your favorite J&J Ranch post or series?

🐐 Goats as people?
📺 Goats as TV characters?
🐕 Michael Myers dog?
🐓 Tom the jerk chicken?
🍼 Newborn baby animals?
😂 Farm fails?
❤️ The heartfelt posts?
🤷 Something else?

Tell me your favorite in the comments!

If I don't see you again, will I see you in Heaven?

Whew. 😳

That's a question that'll make you stop scrolling for a minute.

I heard someone say that today. They said whenever they meet someone they likely won't ever see again, they ask them, If I don't see you again, will I see you in Heaven?

Now listen... we spend a whole lot of time worrying about stuff that won't matter 100 years from now. We worry about our jobs, our bills, our houses, our social media followers, whether Karen from high school liked our post, and if our jeans still fit after vacation. 🤣

But at the end of the day, none of that goes with us.

Not your job title.
Not your bank account.
Not your fancy truck.
Not your big house.
Not your popularity.

The only thing that matters is where your soul is headed.

I know that's not the trendy message these days. It's not the feel-good, everybody-gets-a-trophy message. But the truth is still the truth whether it's popular or not.

Jesus didn't call us to kinda-sorta follow Him when it's convenient. He called us to surrender our lives to Him. To be all in.

And before somebody says, Well, nobody's perfect, you're right. Not one of us is. That's exactly why we need Jesus.

Friend, this life is shorter than we think. One minute you're young and wild, the next minute you're making noises every time you stand up and getting excited about a new vacuum cleaner. 😂

So I'll ask you the same question...

If I don't see you again, will I see you in Heaven? 🩷
