We added sea life to our oceans and spent time identifying all of the sea creatures.

We had special guests visiting today and the children loved having our grand daughter as a helper.

I think we have a future Teacher in the making.

The deep blue ocean….🌊🐠🦀🐙🐳🐬

Today we talked about our favorite ocean creatures and we learned so many interesting things about sea life.

We chalk painted( wet chalk) with blue and green chalk to make our oceans. Tomorrow and Thursday we will add sea creatures, sea shells and mermaids ( per some of the girls requests)

When you first root a sweet potato in a jar of water or pull slips to plant them, it shoots out tons of tiny, spiky, white adventitious roots in every direction.

A rooting sweet potato looks exactly like a white sea urchin or a fuzzy heart urchin.

There is an actual marine creature called a "sea potato". It is a real type of heart urchin that lives buried in the sandy seafloor, using its furry spikes to move and breathe.

Farm Fridays…

Ms Sheri made sourdough discard banana choc chip muffins.

We have our sourdough bread/baking station all set up and the children will be doing a lot of cooking and baking this fall.

Our goal is to be predominantly “homemade” snacks. Currently we choose snacks that have less than 5 ingredients and no preservatives.

Next week we will be planting organic potatoes to produce potatoe slips. Whole potatoes are easier for the children to plant as sometimes seeds blow away or they lose them on the ground.

Slow paced and intentional learning…. Homemade takes time. 🍦

It’s not just about enjoying a sweet treat. It’s about learning how to make it, having the patience to wait for it to be finished, savoring the result. Then running off to play with sticky fingers and happy hearts.

Life is messy… it’s ok!

We are here to nurture and make childhood fun again.

We want your children to be less anxious, more confident, compassionate and self sufficient as they enter into the fast paced world of structured education.

If you build it… they will come.

We have been slowly building our program … year by year growing to reflect core values.

Family, Farm animals, Faith, Friendship, Fun, Food and InFormal farm-based learning.

Choosing families with the same goals and philosophy to become part of our child centered farm program has taken on a new meaning.

We want families to stay, as we aren’t geared to build relationships and be the “in between”… as soon as they are 2..as soon as they are potty trained..as soon as they can move to “big school”.

Today we talked about all the ingredients that go into making homemade ice cream. We also identified all of the ingredients that will be in our vanilla ice cream.

The children learned names of ingredients, smelled the vanilla, taste tested and chose what ice cream cone is their favorite.

Tomorrow morning Mr. Dave will make our ice cream with the children and have it as a dessert after lunch.

Our Thursday children will have ice cream too and get to make ice cream sundaes.

We absolutely love this feedback as it warms the heart knowing that there are families that wish they could bring their child to our weekly program.

Some Parents travel 30 miles one way!

Our goal is to never be a cookie cutter early childhood experience.

This upcoming year is in line to be one of the best so far.

We do have ONE Enrichment opening and will be reaching out to our waitlisted families today.
