There’s just something about seeing a freezer go from empty to FULL that makes you appreciate where your food comes from. 🥩❤️

I’m incredibly grateful that there are still hardworking local farmers out there raising animals, putting in the long days, and giving families like mine the opportunity to buy our meat directly.

Every year, we’re fortunate enough to buy half a beef, and I don’t take that for granted. When you break down what we pay compared to buying steaks, roasts, burger, and everything else individually at the grocery store, the savings are HUGE.

But for me, it’s not even just about the price.

The quality is on a completely different level. You can walk into Walmart and buy beef all day long, but there’s just no comparison to locally raised beef that you know where it came from. The flavor, the quality, the cuts—it’s night and day.

And there’s something pretty damn satisfying about opening the freezer and knowing your family is stocked for a long time.

So here’s a little appreciation post for the farmers who are still out there doing it every single day. 🇺🇸🐄🌾

Support your local farmers whenever you can. Know where your food comes from. Keep your money local.

And shoutout to whoever invented the upright freezer… because we absolutely put this poor bastard to WORK. 😂🥩

Today’s lunch:

The whole plate comes out to:

🥔 20g carbs
🥑 12g fat

Honestly, for under 500 calories, this is a pretty damn good amount of food. Filling, flavorful, and something I can actually see myself eating consistently.

I’ll still be out reviewing all the great food around NWPA 😂 — but between reviews, we’re cleaning it up a little bit.
