The first 60 chicks hatched!! Not a bad outcome, but I still have a couple more trays of eggs to come!! 😅
In other news now that the ladies are settled in their coop we have been getting about 18 eggs a day, still not what it was, but better then 11.
In addition to all of the eggs hatching in the incubator we had two “missing” hens show back up with babies!! They each hatched 8 chicks and all seem to be doing great!

Tory called at 6am to tell me to take a walk… this ass hole was hit last night! Good riddance!!! Now just need a bunch more to play in the road all night until they get hit!

The chickens got a new home and there are now 7 dozen eggs in the incubator. We did find out the main problem is owls (which are federally protected) so we cannot do much about it. We have lost over 60 chickens in the last week. This picture from this morning is just about all we have left. There are a few out that are escaping the predators, and I have 8 in my ermine pen.

Operation re grow our flock has started, just out 6 dozen eggs in the incubator and still looking for a few more dozen! 😭 I wanted to be done with chicks this year! Over 60 chickens gone, egg collection went from 24-30 eggs a day to collecting 11 eggs today

Very sad news today. This morning when checking on the animals I noticed about half of our chickens are gone. There were feathers everywhere but we do not know what got them.

Officially one week in and I think she is almost there with accepting her foster 💕 he was freely nursing in the pasture this am so that’s great progress

Not sure why people think they are free, but they are not, theh are cheap!
Anybody still want chicks? I do not…. I found a nest and put them into the incubator since I didn’t know how old they were… they all hatched, currently have 8. 💰 to go.
🤦🏼‍♀️😅 I have more coming too!

Almost have the stanchion done. It made a huge difference with milking tonight! Can’t wait until it’s complete and all the kinks are worked out!
