Fuzzy Bums Homestead

I am passionate about helping not only my family but other families live a healthier lifestyle! In 2022 I got an urge! I found groove!

I needed something that signed with my passion, something I could do while not being away from my kids and a way to connect with people in the community. The world groove movement to be exact and I couldn't be more excited to share this with you. Summer of 2023 I'll be certified as a facilitator and teaching classes to all types and ages of people. Have to brag on my new neighbors!
6 weeks ago... In just a very short time they plowed half their lot, amended,planted 20 rows of flowers and now they are rocking the farmers market!
Way to go Forgetmenot farms! I don't think they are on FB, yet, but if you go to the market in Florence or Canon, find them and talk to them because they are done hard working ppl.

Seriously, they did all that while we were in a drought/heat wave, while moving and living out of a camper, commuting 2 hours once or twice a week, she's working full time and lots of stuff going on, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching and getting to know them.

Yesterday, they took some of my goodies to the market and we both pretty well sold out at florence so didn't even go to Canons'.....Which I should talk about on another post....But, we had eggs, sweet bread, jam and garden huckleberry plants. Now I'm making more😉 so, check out their booth next week! Beautiful flowers, arrangements, plus some treats from us! Next week I'll have grape jelly tho add, the last of my huckleberries, eggs, more sweet bread, and maybe more.

We have new babies... Picked up a couple more nigerian dwarfs.
We also have baby bunnies ready for new homes.

This last 5 bunnies sold quick and I'm taking preorders for the next round! We just had 3 mom's have a grand total of 25 baby bunnies! Dang they are happy it's spring!
This picture shows what some of them will look like, but we will have all sorts of colors ranging from almost black/brown,tort, spotted with black and brown, and a few mostly white.
They will be ready to go to new homes around May 31st.

OK so its been way way too long since we posted anything. After the last farm sale i feel like we haven't caught a break and somehow I feel like i haven't really accomplished much around the farm. and then...the kids started their schooling(at home like we have for the previous 3 years) and I realized at 4 am when i was sleepless... that i should give myself some grace!! i have a new highschooler. a new middle schooler. 1 that is now compulsory age, (7 in colorado) and a toddler. WOW!!! That makes me tired just to write, but that means this year is far different than the prior years, every kid is doing more challenging school work, each, including the oldest is needing more of me, and then I somehow have to keep them fed(healthy meals preferably...and keep the baby from destroying the house and we all take turns occupying her so mom can get at least 1 thing done on the list each day...cuz some days that even seems like an accomplishment!!!

SOO...that kinda sums up my days!! the farm, well, ive tried to get things to autopilot as much as possible and before winter hits, there is plenty to do. The goats, rabbits, pigs, chickens and the 2 baby turkeys are all doing well. we are not getting enough eggs, which is sad, but it's that time of year i guess already. molting has begun.
The garden is very much neglected but i am harvesting a few cherry toms and lettuce, radish and a few other things will be done by the freeze. i still love just walking around and will need to post more pictures soon!!

Ok folks! It's Friday farm sale/bake sale day! Tomorrow from 9-noon. Stop by for goodies! 975 washington Street, Canon City

We have cinnamon rolls, hand pies, brownies, coconut oat cookies, Apple spice cakes.

We will have lemonade, ice pops to beat the heat and wash it all down with.

Pickings are slim this week from the garden but I'm sure there will be a few"healthy"treats as well 😉😉

Farm fresh eggs available while supplies last!

***Please excuse the mess as we are doing some landscaping out front and have moved the stand further back, just pull on in and check us out!

Just one preview of the goodies we will be offering this Friday!

Also we have double chocolate muffins, chocolate fiddle diddles, pumpkin and banana bread, salads greens, baby beets, kale, collard greens, and eggs and a lemonade stand this week. There will sure be other surprises as well 😉
Help the kids and I get our farm stand up and running by stopping by and supporting us! We will be out at the front of our driveway set up. You can pull in and Park off the road. If you have littles with you we may also have some fuzzy bum babies for them to interact with 🤪

The kids and I are all cottage food certified and are going to be setting up a small stand probably 1xa week. Is there a day that works best for everyone? We are thinking Fridays, can't do the weekends.
We will be selling homemade baked goods, jams, eggs, and whatever produce we have available for the week. We will also have lemonade and a few hand crafted items as well. For those that don't know.. We are located in the north end of canon City, just one block east of the exploratory school.

Stay tuned for another post of of exactly what we will be offering this week as well as the times that we will be open this Friday!
