Here we GROW again! The 2026 crop is doing great. We just finished one of the most important and difficult spring jobs we do. Hanging about 200 coir lines and pruning and training the plants to climb. But it’s done and they are looking good!

It’s just about time! Mountain Top Fresh Hop IPA will be ready the week of October 13 at Freefolk Brewery in Hico West Virginia. It’s been a long growing season and it’s great to see it come together! I will post the exact release date when the brew is ready.

We finished up packaging this years harvest last week. Huge thanks to all that attended our party and helped us cut and pick. The harvest party was a great success and we could not have done it without all of the help. Thanks also to Jeff and Sarah from Freefolk Brewery in Hico, WV. They helped with the harvest and will be releasing the 2025 Mountain Top Hops IPA shortly! I will post the release date as soon as I know it.

We are about 2 to 3 weeks from harvest. Most of the summer has been very wet, but now into August we have had almost a week with little or no rain. Last year we ran about 1.200 feet of water line up to the hops field on the top of the mountain. We have 3 watering stations per side and usually water about 34 plants at a time. Each plant gets 1 gallon per hour and we try to leave the stations on for 1 to 2 hours daily. We just started watering the plants Thursday of last week. The cones are still pretty spongy but getting there. The red fox and deer will come in and eat corn together. We still have some spotted fawns. The last pic shows the hops yard on the mountain top.
