We also have seafood Mac and cheese you can take home and heat up for $20.00 - while supply lasts!!

And last but not least we always have our awesome crab cakes, cooked shrimp, crab dip, lobster rolls, Manhattan clam chowder and she crab soup!!

Open daily 8 am to 6 pm. Food truck will be open 12 - 8 pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week so come check it out. The menu is online.

BaySide Shellfish Company in Stone Harbor, NJ is seeking qualified individuals to join our farming team.

With our plans to expand significantly throughout 2021, there will be growth opportunities within the company.

Salary/Hourly Rate Will Be Based Upon Experience

Duties include but not limited to:

• General Harvesting
• Daily farm maintenance
• Grading and bagging of clams for sale
• Routine maintenance and cleaning of farming equipment (boats, pumps, hoists, etc.)
• Grading and sorting of clam seed

Qualifications:

• Team player with a good attitude (we will be working together in close proximity on a daily basis)
• Must be capable of understanding and following instructions from the foreman and being accountable to him/her for work.
• Must be able to speak and understand English.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50+ lbs.
• Ability to operate the boat and equipment as needed
• Reliable transportation
• Flexible hours (although we try to work a normal work week, weather and tides dictate work hours, must be flexible)
• Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions at various times of the day and night.
• Must complete safety orientation prior to working on the farm
• Must wear proper safety gear when necessary.
• Must be able to swim.
•A Love for the marine environment!

Today marks the last day of the 2021 clam hatchery season. This cone holds 150 million 10 day old hard clams. At this stage of development they are .2 millimeters in size and are ready to move into downweller silos. In the second picture you can see the clams have both a swimming fin and a foot. Soon they will loose their swimming fins and settle to the bottom and begin their lives as fully developed clams.#baysideshellfish #shellfishaquaculture #hardclams #stoneharbor

Not much of an “off-season” here as spawning in our hatchery has taken over. Step 1? Broodstock conditioning. We monitor and adjust Broodstock conditions daily to guide our Clams and Oysters through their reproductive cycle. We’ll have Shellfish babies in no time!

The new year marks the start of another Hatchery Season. Every year we select clams and oysters for breeding based on their fast growth, shell quality and disease resistance.
