I've spent a lot of time talking to God lately. Picking raspberries opens up that space. No music. No podcasts. Just me, fields, bugs, and the Creator whispering.
2 messages keep being spoke into my heart.
1️⃣ - God provides.
Often not how we expect, but He always does.
This was our first year of farmer's markets, and numerous times Dan said, "I don't know if we're going to have anything to sell this week."
Then God and his sense of humor provided in ways we couldn't explain. Providing 30, 40, 50, and even 60 lbs of green beans week after week. Something we previously told people we weren't even going to sell.
We sold out every week.🥹
Raspberries were another thing we told people we were not going to sell. Then everytime we went out there .... pounds and pounds of raspberries. It was undeniable. We should sell them.
We have consistent pick up orders during the week AND selling out of raspberries at the market.🥹
Our farm kind of feels like the oil in the jars from the Bible. We can't tell you how... but it doesn't run dry.
2️⃣ - A lot of the world's problems comes from greed.
I need to be patient and wait for each raspberry to ripen or I risk pulling off the stem or more.
We also don't spray our berries. So some... the bugs get. But there is plenty for us too. The bugs help pollinate and the plant flourishes. They have their purpose too.
I need to look to see if they are using one before I grab it.
I respect them, and they respect me.
There is balance.
But if I get greedy and impatient... it not only risks my safety... it throws off the balance.
I realize this may seem hippy to some. There is a past version of me that would have thought that too.
And well... I guess if respecting nature and wanting the best for everyone is hippy...
Guilty as charged.🙏❤️
PS - Yes, we have lots more raspberries available for pick up orders this week.🛍
