A Beef Dip Sandwich, also known as a French Dip, is a delicious and hearty meal. Here's a simple recipe to get you started:
Ingredients:
1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
4 hoagie rolls or French baguettes
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 cups beef broth
1 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: Provolone or Swiss cheese slices
Instructions:
Prepare the Au Jus:
In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Add the sliced onion and cook until caramelized, about 10 minutes.
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Pour in the beef broth, water, soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce.
Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Heat the Roast Beef:
Add the sliced roast beef to the simmering au jus and let it heat through for about 5 minutes.
Assemble the Sandwiches:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Slice the hoagie rolls or baguettes and place them on a baking sheet.
If using cheese, place a slice of cheese on each roll.
Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is slightly toasted.
Remove from the oven and pile the heated roast beef onto each roll.
Serve:
Serve the sandwiches with a small bowl of the au jus for dipping.
