Crazy the oldest calves are a month old or almost, and it’s already nearly mid June! Summer is getting warmer around here, and even some of the cows need more help than others, especially from their mamas!

Sometimes when you are higher than others, you can also be just short of other places!

First purebred Murray Grey heifer in our herd was born this morning!

Baby girl was up and moving very quickly. Mama has over produced on the milk production again!

Well today’s surprise didn’t end out in the best outcome…

This morning this calf was found out in the pasture alone! Which if you know is a major red flag..

Yes she is doing well for being 11 days early, but is a new adventure for us! Our first bottle baby in years!

Mama Oakley tried for a bit, but there’s nothing we can do when we battled the hardships of her hormones for hours.

Although it was a hard decision to let a former show heifer not be able to be a mom, it was for the best of everyone safety.

This sweet lil baby girl loves snuggles from us 🥰

First calf of the year has hit the ground!

Although she came as a surprise yesterday afternoon, we are grateful she came on a beautiful sunny afternoon! Although this precious little girl is a week early, she much loves having attention!!

Calving season is near and so is the warm weather (I hope).

Things are finally drying out after last week’s storms. We were lucky to not have any major damage unlike some other family and friends had. And yes, we even had a few flurries yesterday morning as well.

And these mamas are glad to have a few sunny days, before more rain this week!

04/05/2026

Happy Easter to all! As we clean up from the last few days of storms (ice to flooding), we look forward to the spring for our calves to hit the ground.

First mama is starting to bag up for her May 5th due date 🤍🤍
