Starting my morning by fueling my body instead of just filling it. 💜

Today’s breakfast was a simple, protein-packed smoothie made with Fairlife Vanilla Protein Shake, L. reuteri yogurt, and a handful of frozen berries. It’s creamy, delicious, and gives me the protein and nutrients I need to start the day feeling energized.

After my weight loss journey and surgeries, I’ve learned that what we eat truly matters. Every meal is an opportunity to nourish our bodies, support healing, and invest in our long-term health. Food isn’t just fuel. It can be medicine, too.

Out here on the homestead, snack time doesn’t come from a box… it comes from a little spark of curiosity and a whole lot of love ❤️

Today turned into one of those kitchen days that just felt right. I made brændende kærlighed a couple of days ago—that cozy Danish comfort dish that wraps you up like a warm blanket—but we took it one step further. Jens and I started talking about butter (as you do 😄), and somehow that turned into us dreaming up our own L. reuteri cultured butter with the bacon and fried onions from the brændende kærlighed.

And let me tell you… that butter is something special.

Golden, rich, and alive with goodness, spread thick over slices of my homemade French loaf—crusty on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. The kind of bread that crackles when you cut into it and disappears faster than you meant it to.

There’s something about creating food like this… from scratch, from heart, from us.
From Danish roots to homestead hands.

Just a simple snack, but also not simple at all.
Because it’s ours.

And honestly? These are the moments I’ll remember most—flour on the counter, butter softening on warm bread, and Jens dreaming up the next thing together with me🥖🧈

Out on the homestead this morning, I caught one of my sweet hens tucked into her favorite little sun spot, all fluffed up like a feathered biscuit fresh from the oven. 🐔✨

She sat there so peaceful, preening each feather with the kind of care that reminds me to slow down too. No rush, no noise… just the quiet rhythm of country life. The soft clucks, the breeze through the coop, and a hen getting herself all cozy like she’s got nowhere else to be but right there in that moment.

There’s something special about these small, simple scenes. It’s not just chores and eggs… it’s a whole way of living that fills your cup in the gentlest way. 🤍

The truth is, governments and the people in power rely on our dependency. When we can’t feed ourselves, we must buy. When we can’t fix, grow, or make what we need, we’re forced to rely on their systems — their prices, their policies, their control.
