Yesterday my husband officially earned his private pilot license, and I couldn’t be more proud. ✈️

What makes this even more remarkable is that he somehow fit this dream into a life already overflowing, co-owning and helping run our farm, working a full-time job, and still showing up every single day for all of it.

Watching him pursue something purely because it excited and challenged him has been such a good reminder that life can’t be all work all the time. (I’m trying to learn from him.) Good job Mathew! Your co-pilot awaits.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms, grandmas, mother figures, and nurturers out there.
We are endlessly grateful for your support of our little farm and for allowing our flowers to be part of your lives and celebrations. Wishing you a day filled with love, beauty, rest, and appreciation. We love our moms around here (especially the ones that drop off food for us busy farmers).💛

Mother’s Day week on a flower farm is nothing short of extraordinary.

Over the past 10 days alone, we’ve harvested upwards of 20,000 stems, built more than 800 bouquets, and shipped our blooms to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. We’ve delivered hanging baskets to our friends at Seattle Grower’s Market while somehow still fitting in the everyday farm work — weeding, harvesting, sowing, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, and caring for thousands upon thousands of plants.

This industry asks so much of the people behind it. Long days, late nights, sore backs, dirt under our nails, and endless moving pieces. But every spring we’re reminded exactly why we do it. Flowers are not just another gift — they mark moments of love, gratitude, celebration, and connection. Mother’s Day especially reminds us how meaningful flowers can be.

We are incredibly thankful for organizations like the Oregon Flower Growers Association and Seattle Growers Market for creating opportunities and markets for local flower farmers like us. Supporting regional agriculture keeps these farms alive and thriving.

We’re also deeply grateful to the florists who choose Pacific Northwest-grown flowers and recognize just how special these seasonal blooms are. Spring flowers are fleeting, delicate, and impossible to replicate any other time of year.

And finally, thank you to our little town of Castle Rock for continuing to support our small farm this seaso. Your encouragement means the world to our family farm.

Our farm stand is fully stocked this weekend with beautiful hanging baskets and fresh bouquets ready to help celebrate all the moms, grandmas, bonus moms, and mother figures we love so much. 💐

Ranunculus, snapdragons, Icelandic poppies, delphinium, and Bells of Ireland all came together in this mix. Each one on its own timeline, each one part of a much bigger plan.

Some of these flowers were started all the way back in summer, then carefully planted into our greenhouse beds in November to overwinter and get a head start on spring. The ranunculus? Those corms were actually purchased this time last year.

That’s the part you don’t always see. These bouquets aren’t just arranged this week, they’ve been in the works for months (sometimes a full year). Every stem represents a bit of patience, planning, and a whole lot of love. And now, they’re finally here. 💕

Meet two of our farm cats, Lucy & Lilith.
While they are precious… they’re also just a little bit naughty.

They keep us entertained daily here on the farm, but last night they truly outdid themselves.

Without us knowing, these two snuck into the box truck and stowed away on our flower delivery to the Portland Flower Market. 🌸🚚🐾

Yes… they made the full trip.

Thankfully, we discovered our surprise passengers, got them safely settled into the cab, and brought them right back home to the farm where they belong.

No harm done—just two curious cats adding a little extra adventure to our delivery day.

Safe to say… we’ll be doing a cat check before every trip from now on. 😅
