The last time I had baleadas was in Honduras, and they were a bit transcendental. Never did I imagine that I could get served baleadas in PGH, but I was wrong! You'll never be disappointed in Beechview (I'm looking at you, ), but adds another reason to get here quick.

Once upon a time, Bangkok and the Malay peninsula were like home away from home, and bags of kafae yen (กาแฟเย็น, aka Thai iced coffee) were a daily obsession of mine. It was so wonderful to be brought back there today with a cup of this dreamy creamy version from (at its permanent spot in Oakland). Go get one!

Alright, my & friends--this is big time. Every W-F from 11-2, is now slinging their delicious goods in Oakland (4410 Bigelow, right next to the -- thanks to for the heads up on this).

Got the In-N-Aht Burger, and it was everything I hoped and needed it to be. So good. Coming back next week for some hot chicken action, so stay tuned.

FINALLY made it to this gem, and boy does it deserve the hype. The chilled beet soup, the yeasted buns, and the stuffed cabbage dishes were our absolute favorites. Can't wait to go back and try more!

are a thing in Maine, and I am so happy they are. Warm, slightly sweet, with a slab of maple butter and wild local blueberry preserves. Super custardy and only slightly sweet, the Stadium in Bar Harbor does these right. Not pictured: a second pop over that went right into my face.

PSA: Brunched at last weekend (tried the new Turkish eggs dish!), and I feel it is my public duty to suggest you all do the same tomorrow or Sunday. Pictured is the tuna melt, Turkish eggs, avocado toast, croissant sticky bun (!), and breakfast sammie...but really, you can't go wrong. 😋☕️🥐🍳
