ALL CLAIMED! 🎉

Downsizing my chocolate silkie pen. Moving on to a new color.

I will have available:
two satin frizzle hens
two regular bearded silkie hens
one frizzle silked showgirl hen
possibly a chocolate satin showgirl (she’s so amazing and I’m torn)

All 1-3 years. Several came from my original breeding program in Mississippi. All state breeding banded for NPIP and AI Clean

I will still have chocolate chicks, just not as many available as I’m most likely keeping a 3-4 bird chocolate color flock.

I’ll get individual pictures tomorrow!

I always dread testing day. Catching and caging my ridiculous harem of birds is a chore and a half. I try to get nail trims in at the same time for good measure. At least they gave me a cool sign this time.

Birds are a happy addiction but also make me slightly crazy with the amount of work I volunteered myself for. 🤪 Anyone else relate?

SHE FOUND A NEW HOME ❤️
Looking for a new home for Gertie.
She is PET ONLY. 100% not to be a breeding bird.
I don’t think she should even go to a home that has roosters in the mix to be safe and keep her from being stressed due to medical issues.
Gertie is a frazzle (hatched from eggs I swapped with another breeder). She’s about three years old and came here with me from Mississippi. She has run of the aisle ways in the bird barns and has never been allowed to have babies. She pr*****ed at about a year old and has not had any issues since but does get messy bum feathers quite often. Gertie is the prime example of why you do not breed a frizzle to a frizzle. But she’s very sweet. I’m not looking to rehome her to just anyone and will keep if the right home is not found. I just thought I’d share in case someone was looking for a strictly pet silkie and doesn’t mind a messy bum.
