There's something about the end of August and looking forward to September. I've always thought of it as a golden month, full of jeweled tones. A little hurrah before we get to the crisp, cool nights of fall.

The July garden is going out with a flourish of marigolds and sunflowers. Our crops were slow to start this year but we are now hitting our stride. August is bringing to hope of even better blooms yet to come.
