These girls are as calm as can bee—they aren't worried about me one bit! 🐝 This is how every hive should be. When a colony has a strong queen and plenty of pollen and nectar coming in, they don't have much to be upset about.

These two jars came from the same hives at the same time, yet they're completely different colors! 🍯
The color and flavor of honey depend on which flowers the bees are collecting nectar from. Even within the same apiary, different hives may forage in different areas, resulting in beautiful variations like these. Both are wildflower honey—just with their own unique character!

When temperatures get this hot, honey bees do something called bearding. 🐝

When the hive is full and the inside becomes too warm, thousands of bees gather on the outside of the hive. They hang there while other bees use their wings to fan fresh air through the entrance, helping cool the hive and keep the colony at a safe temperature.

It may look alarming, but it's completely normal and is one of the amazing ways bees work together to regulate the temperature inside their home.
