Because of the weather, we’ll only be open this Saturday, October 3rd, and we’re filling the stand up with a FULL STOCK of all your favorites PLUS our new fall goodies!

Where have we been this weekend? 🤎

Nathan and I had the opportunity to travel to Missouri for the National Heirloom Expo at Baker Creek Seed Company, and it was such an amazing weekend!

We spent the weekend learning new gardening tricks, discovering new seed varieties, stocking up on medicinal herbs, and gathering lots of inspiration for the future of Broken Mill.

I especially stocked up on floral seeds because I’d love to start offering cut flowers next year, and I’m already making plans to expand our herb garden so we can offer our own tea blends next season.

We also got to slow down and enjoy a relaxing weekend in a beautiful little silo cabin and really take some time to think about what we’re building here and where we want to take it.

It was a weekend full of learning, dreaming, and planning and we came home even more excited for what’s ahead. 🤎

The mornings have been feeling like fall this week, and I am absolutely loving it! There’s just something about that crisp morning air that makes me want to fill the kitchen with the smell of apples, cinnamon, and all the cozy spices of fall.

Our homemade apple pie filling is packed with tender apples and warm fall spices, making it perfect for pies, cobblers, crisps, or spooned warm over a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 🤎

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins! 🎃🍂

Perfectly spiced with our homemade pumpkin pie spice, made with browned butter, filled with a delicious cream cheese filling, and topped with a buttery, crumbly oat streusel.

When I say these are going to be a staple in my house this fall, I mean I’ll be making these almost weekly! 🤎

And the best part? They’ll be available at the farmstand starting October 2nd!

You’re going to want to save this one for all your fall baking! 🍂

I refuse to buy those tiny bottles of pumpkin pie spice that only last me 4–5 recipes, so I started making my own instead!

Not only does homemade pumpkin pie spice have SO much more flavor, but this recipe makes about 4 oz of spice mix. I usually double it and fill an 8 oz jar, and it lasts me all through the fall baking season!

And it’s so simple. 🤎

Homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice:

• 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
• 2 teaspoons ground ginger
• 2 teaspoons ground nutmeg
• 1½ teaspoons ground allspice
• 1½ teaspoons ground cloves

Mix it all together, store it in an airtight jar, and you’re ready for pumpkin rolls, pies, muffins, breads, cookies…basically everything pumpkin!🎃

It’s cooling off this week, and it’s finally starting to feel like pumpkin spice season! 🎃🍂
