MONDAY. WE’RE HERE. WE’RE RESTOCKING. WE’RE RECOVERING.

Whew. What a WEEK last week! You kept us busy, kept us smiling, and apparently decided we needed to earn our w**e-shop stripes all over again. 😂

So today? We’re resetting.

We’re stamping bags. Folding boxes. Cleaning up. Placing A LOT of orders (because clearly, you people have excellent taste, and we love that for you).

Basically, we’re putting the shop back together, catching our breath, and getting ready for whatever you throw our way next.

The doors are open. The w**e is here. The Olive Oil is here. The Vinegars are here. The Chocolate is here. And the wheels are turning.

If you stopped in last week, shopped small, grabbed a bottle, picked up a gift, or helped make it such a successful week, THANK YOU. Seriously. Weeks like that remind us exactly why we do what we do--the laughs, the stories, the trust you put in us.

Now, if you need us, we’ll be over here with a rubber stamp in one hand, a stack of boxes in the other, and approximately 47 things on our to-do list.

FUN FACT FRIDAY!

Did you know that the color of red w**e comes almost entirely from the grape skins?

Believe it or not, the juice inside most red w**e grapes is actually clear!

When making red w**e, grapes are typically crushed, and the juice is fermented along with the skins. During fermentation, the skins release their pigments, tannins, and flavor compounds into the w**e. The longer the juice stays in contact with those skins, the more color and structure it can develop.

But here's where it gets interesting: Red grapes can actually make white w**e!

By gently pressing red grapes and separating the juice from the skins before fermentation, w**emakers can produce a white w**e from grapes that would normally make a red. With minimal skin contact, there's little opportunity for the juice to pick up that familiar red color.

White Pinot Noir...yes, you read that correctly! A still white w**e made from Pinot Noir grapes, not a sparkling w**e. And we've only got a couple of bottles left!

It's a fun reminder that the grape variety is only part of the story. How a w**emaker handles those grapes can completely change what's in your glass!

We loved this so much, you all loved it more…we sold EVERY BOTTLE in less than two business days.

We ordered a re-stock.

Of the bottles we asked for, we only received THREE!! After these three are re-homed we won’t know when we will get more in the shop, but we’re hoping it won’t be long 🤷🏻‍♀️

This is the price you pay for seeking out the best, and it’s like we always say: love US more than your bottle, because we’ll be here, but we can never be so sure of your favorite new bottle (we can always help you find another)🤣

FUN FACT FRIDAY!

What do water, coffee, and red w**e have in common? They all feature in the drinking traditions of some of the world’s “Blue Zones” or regions famous for their long-lived residents!

In Sardinia, Italy, w**e often comes with a meal, friends, and time to sit and enjoy both. Now THAT’s a pairing we can appreciate.

Well… we’ve been a little quiet around here.

After having to unexpectedly close Saturday following the sudden loss of my heart-dog, I’ve needed a few days to breathe, regroup, and just be home with my family and our pack. Thank you so much to everyone who reached out, checked on us, and gave us a little grace. It has meant more than you know.

But… we are back. ❤️

And while I may have been quiet on social media, the w**e fairy apparently did NOT get the memo.

We have A LOT of new inventory hitting the shelves!

I’ve been on the hunt for some really good, interesting bottles, and as usual, I’ve been… well… picky. Very picky. Because if I’m going to put it on our shelves, I want to actually be excited about it.

And then there was the Pinotage.

Finding a good Pinotage has been surprisingly difficult. I searched. I tasted. I questioned. I probably annoyed a few w**e reps.

BUT…

WE GOT ONE.

🍷 A GOOD PINOTAGE.

Turns out finding the right Pinotage is a little like finding matching socks in the laundry—technically possible, but WHY IS IT SO HARD?!

But we found it. And there are plenty of other new bottles waiting for you, too.

Fun Fact Friday: Pretty in pink, with a story to share.

“Oeil de Perdrix” means “eye of the partridge”—a French name for this rosé’s delicate pink color. We’ll stick with calling it delicious. This 2023 Belle Glos Sonoma County rosé brings fresh berry flavors and a crisp finish, and we’re sampling it this weekend!

Belle Glos has also dedicated this w**e to those who have battled breast cancer and supported research through a portion of its sales.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a good reminder to check in on someone you love and show a little extra support.
