It’s been a busy week at the farm! From surprise luffa vines and ripening persimmons to hawks circling the garden, chickens keeping us entertained, and tomato hornworms making themselves at home, summer is winding down just as it should. The apple trees are full, and we’re already enjoying their fruit this season, even though fall hasn’t arrived yet! Good things to come! Almost time to get our fall garden planted! 🙌🥰

Happy Friday friends! I find seeds and plants so fascinating. They are such beautiful reminders of God’s design for life.

I did not plant this loofah gourd plant. A seed must have fallen into this little pot last summer, taken root, and started growing. Now it is climbing the wall and producing fruit, but the space it needs to continue growing is much greater than the pot it started in. 😮

It reminded me that the things God gives life to, naturally want to grow. But in order to truly thrive, they need the right environment, room to grow, something to cling to, and the nourishment they were created to receive.

Isn’t the same true for us? The environments we place ourselves in matter. What we allow to nourish our hearts matters. The people we surround ourselves with matter.

Get in the Word. Open your Bible and allow God’s truth to nourish your heart. Get into community. Find other believers who will walk with you, encourage you, and give you something steady to cling to when life feels hard.

Then trust God to do the rest as His Spirit takes root and continues growing you into the person He created you to be. 🌱

Friday Farm Funny 😂🐍

Well… apparently the chicken coop has become the neighborhood snake hangout. 🐍🐔

Another snake showed up, and this one had a little attitude. Volume UP 🔊 and watch as he/she comes at me… TWICE. 😂

I wasn’t scared at first.

Then I was. 😂

Just another normal night gathering eggs in our chicken coop. 🌱🐓🐍

Happy Friday from the farm! The garden just keeps surprising us! 🌿💜

Our passionfruit are finally starting to come in, and the strawberries just refuse to quit, even in this South Carolina heat!

🍓☀️ Nature has a funny way of reminding us that sometimes the toughest growers are the most rewarding.

And speaking of hard workers... we spotted a loveliness of ladybugs (yes, that's really what a group of ladybugs is called! 🐞). They may be tiny, but one ladybug can eat dozens of aphids every day, making them some of the best little helpers you can have in the garden.

Here's to fresh fruit, helpful bugs, and gardens that keep teaching us something new every day.
