One of our puppies is all grown up and doing a wonderful job on this farm.

This handsome potato dumpling will be three this spring, and what an awesome livestock protector he has become. Last night somebody (ok me) apparently didn’t close one of the coop doors. (No idea how I missed it. I swear I remember doing it.) Sometime in the night a predator must have noticed my error, but Gnocchi was there in a flash woofing and chasing off whoever the opportunist was. Didn’t lose a single bird. We are thankful every day for this loving, devoted boy. This year we will be looking to add another Livestock Guardian Dog to our team for Gnocchi to help train and to give him some needed back up. (If you’re within driving distance of central NC and have a lead on some LGD puppers give me a holler! Gnocchi is a registered Maremma and we’d ideally like an unrelated registered female but they have been hard to find within drivable distance so far. Also interested in Spanish Mastiffs, Akbash, Anatolian, and Karakachan. GPs are awesome dogs but not for our set up.)

One of our male puppies is all grown up and will soon be a daddy. That’s him on the left. These Maremmas protect Boer Goats on the Seay farm. I think they love their human dad too!

Today was forever family puppy pickup day. It was such a pleasure to meet all of the wonderful families that decided to provide homes for our sweet fur babies. We’ve been talking as well as exchanging emails and texts with them for eight weeks. It was a bittersweet day.
