I’m so grateful to have been invited to join WBTV’s Coffee & Conversations for such an important discussion about farming, agritourism, regenerative agriculture, and why agriculture deserves our attention.

A huge thank you to Jana Angel for creating space for this conversation and for bringing together voices that are helping people see the love, labor, joy, and responsibility behind the food we eat and the communities we build. It was great to meet Caroline Lewis, founder of The Farmer’s Feed. She's telling a value based story about the culture of farms in our community.

Farming is more than growing food. It is community infrastructure. It is stewardship. It is purpose. It is a pathway for service, sovereignty, and connection.

I hope you’ll take a moment to watch and reflect on why the future of farming matters to all of us.

I just published a new thought piece on my Substack: “Who Is Growing Your Food?”

In this piece, I write about food sovereignty, community-based agriculture, and why food access cannot stop at distribution. Communities need farmers, and there are certain conditions and systems that must be in place if we are going to sustain the farmers who already exist and encourage the next generation of farmers to take root.

We are in a critical time for farms, farmers, and food security.

My new thought piece. What Would Change If We Treated Farming as a Public Service?: What we inherit from our food system and what it would mean to treat food production as a public good.

Why farming deserves to be understood not just as private enterprise, but as a public good.

On Tuesday, Wisdom and I were honored as Black farmers at a Black History Month celebration at the Governor’s Mansion.

I was a proud to see Erin Martin of Footprints in the Garden, receive the Order of the Long Leaf Pine that evening. She’s innovating and carryinoeard family legacy. Proud to stand beside her.

I wrote about what that moment revealed to me about food sovereignty, local food systems, and the future of agricultural work for our community.

Friends and I wrote something. It's about farmers markets, food access, and the gap between what we say and what we actually build. Would love your thoughts.

What we misunderstand about SNAP, farmers markets, and who actually gets served

I’m just over here pretending to be a chef 😀

Today I whipped up three jars of Mentsuyu soup concentrate with Deep Roots CPS Farm carrots and Oyster mushrooms. 😍

Gifting 1 to an elder and we will have the rest for tasty noodle soup lunches over the next 2 weeks.
I had a hearty bowl today with sautéed bok choy on top. Yummy!
