The stats inside this carousel are worth knowing, especially if you’ve been on the fence about joining. NC is losing farmland fast, most of what’s grown here leaves the state, and the produce on your grocery store shelf is older than you think.

A CSA is one of the most direct things you can do about all of it. Fresh, no-spray, nutrient-dense produce grown 45 minutes outside Charlotte. Only a few spots left for summer season.

Surprise market tomorrow!

This morning’s storms canceled our original plans, so we’re bringing the farm to Plaza Midwood instead.

We will be at tomorrow from 12-2 and will have all the goods from today’s market🥕🫜🫛

Come see us!

Crown Town Farm produce is now available weekly at — no CSA membership required. Stop in, grab what’s fresh, and cook something worth sitting down for.

And it goes a little deeper than that. Sorellina composts with us too, which means their food scraps come back as the soil that grows the produce sitting on their shelf.

That’s the loop, right there in one neighborhood.

Good food finds good food. Follow along to know when produce drops each week.

Peppers or tomatoes? Broccolini or cauliflower? Okra or green beans? Local or regenerative? Nutrient dense or no-spray?

Good news! The only hard calls you have to make are whether you want farm fresh eggs or local bread added on, and whether you’d like it dropped on your porch or would rather wave hello to a friendly face at your pickup location.

Summer season starts next week, June 3rd. Link in bio to sign up!

We’re a day late for World Bee Day, but this one felt too important to skip.

Bee populations are in serious decline, and chemical exposure is one of the biggest reasons why. Most residential mosquito barrier sprays use synthetic pyrethroids — neurotoxins that don’t discriminate between mosquitoes and the bees pollinating your garden.

A study by the Xerces Society found that every yard sprayed by a private company contained insecticide levels high enough to kill pollinators, and 75% of neighboring yards had measurable toxic contamination just from drift.

The chemicals don’t stay where they’re applied. They land on flowers, get carried back to hives, and leave residue on leaves for weeks, enough to kill Monarch caterpillars long after the spray truck is gone.

At Crown Town Farm we don’t use pesticides or synthetic chemicals. Ever. The bees that pollinate our crops depend on it and so does everything growing here.

If you’re thinking about mosquito control this season, it’s worth knowing what else you might be spraying.
