Meet Ms. Kalista, the Siberian Husky, who joined us at Ridgeside K9 Charlottesville for professional dog training. Before enrolling in our 3-Week Board & Train program, Kalista’s family reached out for assistance with general obedience, impulse control, and building reliable off-leash training in real-world environments.

Our experienced dog trainers focused on slowing things down, reinforcing clear boundaries, and building confidence through structured training. By combining obedience, engagement, and accountability, Kalista made impressive progress in her 3 weeks with us.

During her board and train program, Kalista worked extensively on leash manners, impulse control, recall, and engagement both on and off leash. Ridgeside K9 Charlottesville is expanding and looking for a skilled, motivated dog trainer to join our team as an independent contractor. This is an ideal position for trainers who thrive in a hands-on, results-driven environment and want the flexibility of working from their own home while being supported by an established, reputable brand.

As a contract trainer, you’ll work with dogs in your own home, providing a fully immersive training experience. You’ll take in board-and-train clients, following our proven balanced training systems, while also maintaining the personalized care and structure that ensures long-term results. Our admin team handles client acquisition, scheduling, and support so you can focus on what you do best—training dogs.

Requirements
• 3+ years of full-time dog training experience
• Deep knowledge of balanced dog training methods
• Experience with e-collar systems
• Proven success with behavior modification cases
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills

Preferred experience
• Law enforcement or military K9 background
• Working or protection dog experience
• Team leadership or mentorship background
