After much consideration, I made the difficult decision to not take holiday orders this year so that I could focus on quality time with our newly expanded family of 6. Thank you so much for your support and patience this year. I hope you and your families have a wonderful holiday season!

Baking fun with my 9-year old: blondies shaped like pumpkins, brownies shaped like trees, a pecan pie w/ chocolate ganache and best of all, the “scraps” for crumbling over ice cream after all the kids go to bed. Happy Thanksgiving!

The reopening of Kitchen Table Baking Co. has been a bit delayed due to a freezer failure in our refrigerator; a repair person can't come until Tuesday. Since I already replaced the oven last year, I really hope the fridge can be repaired. 😳
The contents of the refrigerator are currently in these coolers, but there was a silver lining this morning: homemade Fall pancakes w/ cinnamon and nutmeg rescued from the freezer purge.

The winner of the KTBC bun in the oven contest was Shelby N.! She chose August 21, the day of the solar eclipse. Sonia Quinlan Henry was born at 1:27pm, just before the start of the eclipse. Shelby is receiving a gift certificate for a dozen free scones (or muffins or cookies).

I have been on a break from baking to bond with our sweet new baby, but will be back very soon with an updated fall menu! Already excited about pumpkin and apple and cinnamon and...

***UPDATE: This contest is now closed, all dates have been chosen! This is already so much fun!***

As many of you know, Kitchen Table Baking Co. has a bun in the oven! As the baking slows down (temporarily!), I thought it might be fun to have a contest to guess the date this bun will be, well, done.

Here are the rules:
1) Enter by commenting to this post with the date you expect the baby to arrive. You can choose any date between today (August 10) and September 6, which is the eviction notice date currently given by my OB. You can choose a later date, but I might not like you very much. 😉
2) All entries must be received by the end of today, August 10! Get your guess in now!
3) Only one entry per person, AND the date you guess cannot have already been chosen by anyone else. Sorry for that one, but if 40 people choose the same date I would struggle to fulfill all those winnings! The good news is a max of 28 entries means a higher chance of winning!
4) The winner will get a gift certificate for a dozen buns, err, scones (or muffins or cookies, if you prefer)!

It's Champs Week for local swim teams, leading up to the huge, 18 team Championships on Friday and Saturday!

At Fairview, there's a daily fun activity leading up to Friday. New this year: Monday is decorate a donut day, and Kitchen Table made the glazes; in Fairview colors, of course!

'All Things Summer' is the menu theme this coming week at Fairview! Peach raspberry scones, strawberry lemon scones (pictured), NEW! lemon poppyseed cookies w/ lemon glaze, Rocky Road rice crispie squares (pictured), and ice cream flavors for the whoopie pies: cookies 'n cream, mint chip and strawberry!

I've been so busy, I haven't posted Fairview snack bar items yet this summer! For 4 weeks in July, there are special theme menus for each week. This week is 4th of July: red white and blue scones (pictured), apple pie scones w/ cinnamon caramel glaze (pictured), blondies, rice crispie squares, and caramel, chocolate and vanilla whoopie pies.

Next week, "Christmas in July" w/ cranberry orange scones, molasses spice cookies, mint whoopie pies and more; then "All Things Summer" w/ peach raspberry scones, new lemon poppyseed cookies w/ lemon glaze and more; and for the last week, patrons will choose their favorites and that's what I'll make!

Of course, all of these items are available for special order anytime!
