What happens to the vine wood after pruning? 🔥🍇

Clark’s job is picking up the canes and stacking them — not just for cleanup, but because grapevine wood can be reused for firewood and smoking wood.

We let the vine wood dry and season first, and we’ll have it available later once it’s ready.

Nothing goes to waste out here.

Pre-pruning days 🍇✂️

This step happens before final cuts — untangling canes, cleaning up the vine, and making sure we’re set up to prune with intention.

It’s not glamorous, but it matters.

If you don’t know what you’re cutting, pruning gets overwhelming fast.

This is a quick breakdown of grapevine anatomy so the rest of pruning actually makes sense.

Winterizing the vineyard 🍇
Before winter really sets in, we have to protect the systems that support the vineyard. That means shutting off every water line and spigot, and making sure our equipment is protected from freezing temperatures.
It’s not about the vines today — it’s about making sure everything is ready when spring comes.

After harvest and our delivery, there was still work to do. Before winter set in, we went back through the vineyard to remove leftover fruit so it wouldn’t carry disease into next year.

Not glamorous work, but necessary.
Taking care of the vineyard now is how we set ourselves up for 2026.

Headed out from Chatham, VA to New Market, New Hampshire for our last harvest of the season 🍇 — and yeah, we’re riding in style in the back of this refrigerated truck 😎.

This trip means a lot. It’s the final run after a long year of grinding, learning, and growing together. Every mile, every grape, every late night is part of building something real for our family and our future.

Big shoutout to my cousin Kris for holding it down and helping me get this truck lined up 🙏🏾 — appreciate you cousin.

Let’s finish this season strong.
