The Inspiration Behind Perfect Lu Paired

Perfect Lu Paired began at my family’s Christmas brunch table in 2020. 🙏🏾
I wanted my mother—whose birthday is Christmas Day—to have an opportunity to relax and enjoy being celebrated instead of spending the entire holiday cooking for everyone else. So that Christmas morning, we collaborated to create a brunch filled with family recipes— a variety of quiche, creamy grits, smoked sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and onions, homemade sausage and biscuits, homemade pigs in a blanket, salmon croquettes, and Hawaiian banana nut bread. Family recipes created inspiration, laughter created memories, and love created a deeper level of faith.
After tasting my quiche and creamy grits, my Daddy-O said words I’ll never forget:
“Oh, Baby Girl, this is the real deal!”
That moment planted a seed.
I began thinking about all the ways food had already been woven throughout my life—cooking with my mother, serving food to the community with my father, creating charcuterie boards, hosting food and beverage pairing experiences, teaching children to cook, working culinary events, and gathering people around the table.
In January 2021, I put the vision for Perfect Lu Paired on paper: unique breakfast and brunch creations, meaningful culinary experiences, and one day, a community café that would create employment opportunities for underserved populations.
Then I sat on the dream for nearly five years.
After my Daddy-O transitioned to Heaven in January 2025, God began showing me that some of the gifts I had been carrying were meant to be used in a new way. My grief, gratitude, faith, love of teaching, and passion for serving others began coming together with a vision that had never left my heart.
And Perfect Lu Paired was born. 💜🦄
Today, we create unique breakfast and brunch pairings--specializing in handcrafted quiche, artisan chacruterie boards, and family inspired sweets. Although our food pairings are designed to bring people together around the table, the vision extends far beyond food. Perfect Lu Paired is growing toward a community café where great food creates opportunities for meaningful employment, belonging, purpose, and connection. Because sometimes what God places on your heart takes time to become what He intended.
Perfect Lu Paired was birthed through grief, gratitude, grace, and God-given gifts—and we’re just getting started.
