Jade sets goals for herself and one has been to make a 30 on the ACT. She has scored a 27 and two 28’s. I told her that was plenty good, why take it again. She said, “NO! It’s a 30! MY GOAL! Not yours! And she has achieved it!
Jade started learning to read before she was born. Emmy would read books to her out loud. We had old school toys, she and I would lay in the floor and play with wooden alphabet blocks, colors and animals. We have NEVER had a video game machine in our house. Emmy taught her “how to study” and homework came before livestock work, which drove me nuts because you can do homework when it gets dark, “hell woman, it’s 21st century we have lights to read, hard to find sick or new borns in the dark.”
But it’s another goal reached, through hard work, dedication and several VERY GOOD, PUBLIC School teachers. Most recently Mrs. Looper, who bales hay and teaches math, Very proud of you Jade. And if you have made it this far, my child said, “Please don’t post that, it’s embarrassing!” Well sweetie, another life lesson, “that’s what parents do!”

Show livestock, AND Make FRIENDS!
It’s been a helluva week! I was pretty sure the girls tried to kill me, 45 min sleep in 48 hours. Then after a day sleep haul 7 head to Texarkana (big help from Zach Ilbery and Branson Howell) Poor Jade did kill (ran over, accidentally) our middle corgi female. Then the good stuff “Uncle” Big Jack Moore, came in from Texas to drive Jade in the Home Coming Parade, I’m not sure what “Da Boys” Trey Anderson and Mason Rainbolt did but they keep Jade smiling, so we’re good! In 2 days we did HOCO, and the Four States Fair in Texarkana. Jade had 3 breed Champion heifers and Reserve Grand Steer.
Shout outs to all the friends and family members that support Jade in so many of her activities.
It’s not unnoticed!
