Banana chocolate chip muffins, because this is my self-care today. A slow day, a little something sweet, and exactly what my heart needed.
These were inspired by my friend Chew On This, she always has good recipes, so if you don't already, go give her a follow as well!!
If this cozy moment speaks to you, go on and save, share, and follow for more emotional-support-baking around here.
And since I was baking in my feelings today, I had to wear my shirt that my sweet friend 2Hearts Handmade sent me!!
Thanks again Megan!!!
You're awesome!!!
Banana chocolate chip Muffins with Crumble Crumble:
Stir together 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Pour in 3 tbsp melted butter and mix until clumpy.
Toss in fridge.
Muffins:
1. Heat oven to 350°F. Line 12 muffin cups.
2. In one big bowl: Mash 3 bananas. Whisk in 1/2 cup maple syrup, 1 egg, 1/4 cup melted butter, 1/4 cup sour cream, 1 tsp vanilla.
3. Dump in 2 cups flour, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp salt. Stir just until combined - lumps are fine. Then stir in 1 cup mini-chocolate chips. You can add some pecans here if you want to instead, but I like the chocolate.
4. Scoop into liners, crumble that topping on, bake
18-20 min until toothpick comes out clean.

Sometimes you try a product for a collab and you end up buying more because your whole house gets hooked.
Cane Brew Tea on the Go has officially become a “keep it in the pantry” staple over here, you just add water, steep, pour, and you’re ready for a cookout, a picnic, or just a random Tuesday on the porch.
Sweet tea shouldn’t be complicated, and this one just gets it.

I’ve linked the product so y’all can check it out and buy you some!

What’s a vacation without a little thrift store shopping??!! Here’s what I found last week.

I loved this porcelain Bull pitcher. He was $5.
The Joy bowl will be great for Christmas!! $2
The Carnation Cookbook was $1 and has a 1943 copyright date!
The Southern living Dessert book was also $1. It didn’t have a date, so I looked it up. This is a first edition and first print from 1967!!
These snowflake bowls and plates were $2 each. They’re not old, I just liked them.

The bull is my favorite. I’ll probably put flowers in him.

What have you found thrifting this week?? Show me in the comments!!!

Hey y’all guess what?! I got out Mamaw’s handwritten cookbook today, the one that still smells faintly like her kitchen and has little smudges from all the times she baked something sweet, and decided to make this incredible chocolate cake. This chocolate cake deserved some special treatment so I mixed it up in the prettiest vintage Pyrex bowls that I got from my friend Ivyland Homestead and suddenly it felt like I’d stepped right back into her kitchen.
Funny how a recipe written in her handwriting and a set of old-fashioned bowls can take you down memory lane, straight back to the warmth, the stories, and the love she stirred into everything.
The recipe will be in the comments for you and on my website!! Make sure to share this with all your chocolate loving friends, and follow along for more vintage recipes!!!
