What is it Wednesday 🤨

It's that time of year you see farmers spraying their crops for w**d control - you won't see that on our farm!

Instead of herbicides we use mechanical methods to kill w**ds, this tine w**der is one of the tools in our tool box

Once the corn reaches 3-4" tall we pass through the field with the w**der to comb out newly sprouted w**ds

Oops we did it again 😬

Our Organic Popcorn is going faster than expected and we'll be sold out wayyyy before 2026 harvest

If you need some, get it sooner rather than later

We've increased our acreage for this growing season to try and keep up with demand

Sunshine, rain, mechanical w**d control, and composted cow manure fertilizer are all we used to grow this gorgeous crop

All popcorn is Non-GMO, but ours is produced without seed treatments, chemical/petroleum fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides, or fumigants

Regenerative ag in action!

Cover crops are an integral part of our operation and serve multiple purposes

- W**d suppression
- Nutrient cycling
- Nitrogen production
- Erosion control
- Organic matter builder
- Cow chow

Cows moooved out of their winter pen to graze our lush red clover and silvery green Danko rye cover crops

They'll chow down the greens and fertilize the soil until it's time for them to rotate back out for planting

So what was being germ tested?

💥Bloody Butcher Red Corn💥

We just learned that Uncle Alan's been growing this heirloom seed in his garden the past 15 years or so.

We're going to give it a try on a larger scale and plant a trial field for testing.

Since it's open pollinated we can save seed for replanting, the same way people did back before hybridization

It's supposed to make the best cornmeal money can buy and craft distillers seek it out for whiskey

A few of you got it right, Brittany Walker was the first to answer correctly! Brittany - send us a message with your address and whether you want black beans or popcorn shipped to your home.
